Likely you have a bad bearing in one of the components or idler pulleys. Remove the belt and check each for looseness or any binding.

WD 40 will only make the belt slip more. If it is the belt, it should be replaced. Check the belt and look for slickness or broken rubber. If either is present, replace the belt.
Post back with engine size for a belt routing diagram.

There was no need for negative feedback. You asked a question and were pointed in the right direction. You may disagree with the solution but to tag is as inappropriate was uncalled for. Any mechanic will tell you never to spray lubricant on a serpentine belt as it will cause slippage.

My car keep on breaks alternator belts and it also makes this loud whistling noise. I've put on a new water pump, 3 alternators and several alternator belts

make sure that the pulleys of all the driven equipment are in alignment and not at a bit of an angle to the axis of the drive belt
To break belts something is not lined up properly or something is not turning freely

My 2001 Mustang 3.8 makes a lot of noise at high speeds. Even at an idle, the noise is noticeable and seems to be coming from the alternator/pully area. I have replaced both items and the belt itsel

You've looked at 2 things it drives, follow that round all units driven by the drive belt. Is it engine speed related? If so what can you hear under the hood when you rev up? If its not too difficult can you run the engine for a minute without the belt fitted. Don't run for long because of overheating. Listen then without all the bits rotating.

2002 ford winstar will not start clicking, get a job it starts but once you start driving it shuts off

Your alternator is probably bad. When you jump it , it puts a charge in the battery. The van will run until the charge is gone. This is what the alternator is supposed to do, keep the charge in the battery and run the engine.

Try slipping the drive belt (fan belt, alternator belt, or whatever you want to call it) off the engine, then run the engine momentarily without the belt. If the noise disappears, at least you now know it is not an internal engine problem, and it will be an issue with one of the pulleys, or belt-driven accessories.

First, if you have sprayed WD-40 on your belt, your belt has been wrecked and needs to be replaced again. WD-40 will only soak into the belt and CAUSE it to slip and make noise.

Then you need to check the alignment of all the belt pullies. The tensioner pullies on many Fords can wear and sit a little out of alignment and cause the belt to rub sideways against the other pullies. Replacing the belt tensioner usually fixes it.

My ford focus zetec makes a rattleing noise

spraying WD40 on drive belts is not a good option as it can cause slippage it is better to use silicon spray or ordinary soap, rub the soap on the belt when the engine is stopped,as for the squeak it could well be the tensioner replace it first it may be the cheapest to start with.....hope this helps....cheers

Noise coming from alternator belt pulley

never spray wd40 on your belts,if it gets on the pulley the alternator or power steering will slip and not work,
listen with an extension bar and pin point noise,if its a bearing in something or maybe just replace the belt for cracks.

Sounds like a belt slipping. Check the tension and wear on your belts.Seems like it's always the alternator belt, so check that first. If the belts are fine it may be your fan clutch.
