I put a new belt for the ac unit and connected it but i hear no sound or feel any air nothing is working. What can i do to fix it cause its cold at night. And hot in the day and i need it. 78 chev imp

In a 1978 Chevrolet Impala? The category you posted is home air conditioners.

Sounds like the fan has failed.

Heat comes from the radiator via the heater core and the air circulation fan. The radiator must be full of coolant.

Cold air comes from the air conditioner compressor via a clutch drive from the serpentine belt, sometimes a separate belt. Cold air comes from the evaporator element and the air is also forced by the air circulation fan.

First thing to do is find the fan body in the bulkhead and tap the back with the handle of a hammer. Sometimes the brushes stick. Then check the fuses.

Check antifreeze level first and add if necessary.

Ac unit not blowing cold air on drivers side but it is blowing cold on pass side

there is a flap inside the blower unit, should be able to find it if you put your hand in foot well and around the back of the consol there is just enough room to put your hand in. see if it is broken or fell out. also check the motor wires that go into the motor. if all fine then the motor for the flap may have gone also check fuse's may have a split fuse not a blown one.

Ac is not blowing out cold air. You have to put gages on the system and it shows its has freon.Checked all fuses and relays. The two fans in engingine compartment do not come on when the ac is turned on but does when the engine gets hot. The compressor engages when turned on also.
If the magnetic clutch engages the compressor and still no cold air could be still low in freon or the HVAC unit.

Blower motor not working all the time...if I bang the dash near the glove box, it comes on then works great. Is this the switch assembly, the resistor problem, or should I be replacing the blower motor?

My air conditioner is putting out cold air for a few minutes then it's warm for 5 minutes and then it's getting cold again? I had the compressor changed by a mechanic who wasn;t sure how much freon it...

OK, the requirement of Freon is 2 cans...as for the Cold/Hot problem, a little info first; the PCM controls the AC clutch (adjusts the IAC, Idle Air Control valve to speed up the idle when turning on the AC unit, and slows down the idle after turning off the AC unit), also the PCM controls the relay that cycles the AC clutch. My experience has been that the relay is "going South". This bad boy is in the fuse block in the engine compartment by the Air Filter box. The relay is an inexpensive item, and if you live where the AC unit is used frequently, I would recommend it being replaced every 3-5 years. Be sure to check with the mechanic to make sure he properly recharged the system, and if so, try these ideas.

Check for the blower motor relay,If it is ok ,replace the blower motor, good to change the blower resister also, located in the blower box.

Nothing but hot air coming out from vents all the time.

Check the actuator motor on the inside of the car on the heater. It shifts the doors of the unit to let the heat and ac shift.

first check and if the thermostat is working. take it out put it in hot water. the thermostat should open up. also put a temp gauge in the hot water so you know at what temp it opens up. start there. dont forget theres more fuses under the hood for the ac unit

2004 camry a/c

You have a faulty a/c snowflake switch or wiring broken that's why no cold air is coming in. This will not let the a/c compressor engage to give you that cold air you wanted. Your problem to be specific is from the fuse in which you said is good and through that a/c snowflake switch.
