Your first hose. OK .

let me tell you what not to do

do not yank on them like a monster. (or twist like same)

or the core nipples will break (10hr labor)

we have a special tool to cut them off, (a back clutter)

but if no tools, use a vary sharp knife and cut them off.

with no damage. to the pipe nipples<(TLC)

im assuming you know...

1: cold engine only ,no burns.

2: drain coolant ,first.

3: clamps off,

4: cut hose off

5: install new ones, and reverse above..

6: burp system of air. test drives (short, and repeat burb)

do you need the words in the book, the real book.

i know books scare folks today. but there is a book an all cars.,

called the FSM book and is just 4 bucks to read.

such a deal....

PS; no job stated?

just a hose leak?

core leaks.?

or just removing heater or A./C?

or just what?

context means every thing in complex process..

Removing the heater hoses at the firewall

It depends on the heater hose fitting? If just a hose with a hose clamp, I loosen the clamp and slide it back, I take a utility knife and split the hose over the heater core fitting and peal the hose off, especially older heater hoses.
Now, if it has some type of quick connect fitting, that's a different story. I can't see anything from here?
I don't know year--make--model?

Remove heater hose on a 2002 chevy trailblazer

I haven't looked up the heater hose on your vehicle. Usually I take a utility knife and split the hose, then peel it off the fitting. Jerking the hose around on the heater core end is not a good idea. Usually the hose will form around that fitting, use a utility knife, on the hose ends. You can take heater hose to auto store, show them what size and how long. You could have heater hose fittings that I'm not familiar with, I'd have to look at it, in that case.

How do you remove the quick connect fittng on 97 expidition heater hose?

Parts stores sell an inexpensive little piece called a quick connect fitting tool. It slips inside the quick connect fitting and releases it so you can pull it apart. If you tell them at the store it is for a heater hose fitting for Expeditions, they should have the right sized one in stock. The quick connect fittings have many sizes and applications.

2009 dodge grand caravan heater hose assembly replace

get a genuine hose first as it is made to fit in the right places. get a cork and plug up one end of the new hose . have a fiend fold the old hose over so that the coolant will not run out when you pull it off. put on the new hose and then remove the old hose from the other end and quickly place the new hose in place after removing the cork.. This results in minimum loss of coolant and minimum mess. Do the job when the engine is cold.. Make sure the hose clips are tight.

Heater hose busted on my 2001 Montana van

If it's a heater hose, it will go to the firewall behind engine, where it connects to the heater core's fitting that juts out from firewall. Hose goes over that fitting. Heater hoses are fairly easy to replace, maybe not so easy on yours, due to lack of space. Drain the coolant before taking off hose, loosen clamps on it, then start pulling it off. Watch for a hose holding bracket that also needs to be removed before hose is completely free. Some do, some don't have such a bracket. Hire a neighborhood kid that works on cars to replace it, as sometimes that hose to heater core fitting can get stuck on tight, and if one starts yanking or pulling on it, you can break the fitting and will then need a new heater core-big expense to replace. Good luck and merry christmas in capital letters, lol.

2010 Dodge Grand Caravan

If the original y-fitting is ok. Just get yourself a piece of heater hose. The auto store may have heater hose on a roll, You may need to tell them the ID and how long, they just cut a length for you and you use hose clamp. I'm not sure what you bought/an assembly? Maybe you can take it back and just get a piece of hose? Of course, I can't see anything from here?
I did find this picture.

How do you replace the heater core in a 1984 GMC 3500 camper

You will probably need new heater hose...first check heater hoses that run from engine to the
heater core......Most hoses will tear at the end where they are connected to the core and at the engine...First mark where each hose goes then drain coolant from system and remove both hoses...Take old hose's to parts store and get new hose's and clamps...They should be dryrotted
by the year of vehicle....It is easy to bend or break new core so be very careful when installing new core....After removing old hose's from core under hood you will know the location of the core....
remove screws under passenger side dash to remove core from inside of dash...very simple very easy....It looks like a tiny radiator with an in and an out spout...dont forget to mark where hoses
connect before removal.......Be sure and refill with new coolant/clamps/hoses because of age of vehicle...Both heater hose's that connect to the core are connected at the firewall on the passenger side of the engine...The core fits into the firewall dash and is connected to an input and an output hose...THIS IS EASY FOR BEGINNERS BUT BE CAREFUL WITH NEW CORE NOT TO BEND !!

  1. Drain the cooling system.
  2. Remove the accessory drive belt.
  3. Remove the lower radiator hose.
  4. Disconnect the heater hose from the pump, if fitted.

  6. Check the accessory belt routing against the plate in the engine compartment before starting engine.
  7. Allow the engine to reach operating temperature and check for leaks.

Heater hose connection that fits into rear of intake manifold "disintegrated" leaving parts of it behind. How do I get it out without removing the manifold? Truck is a 1993 GMC Sierra 1500 5.7 engine...

I see this problem fairly often and you can get the fitting out but you need a bit of patience to do so. I remove probably 6 of these a year and how I get it out is to take a new, very sharp, hacksaw blade [just by itself] and very carefully using the blade by hand cut a 2 or 3 equally spaced vertical grooves through the fitting. The fitting is a fairly soft pewter like metal and cuts fairly easily just the same you want to just cut through the fitting until you are just up to the threads in the intake and not beyond. Once you have these grooves cut you can take a very sharp pointed chisel or center punch and with a small hammer you can catch the edge of the fitting and and tap & peel it away from the manifold piece by piece to remove it. I've tried several specially made "easy outs" to remove these but the problem is that the fitting is stuck so hard to the intake that it just will never turn out again. I replace these failure prone fittings with a simple hose barb type brass or steel fitting and then replace the heater hose with a new piece of plain hose. A really tough broken fitting may take me a half our or so to remove but expect to spend a couple of hours on your first one. Good luck!
