Get an OBDII code scanner with enhanced data capabilities. Then search for the trouble codes (DTC's) on the net for solutions. Best tool you can afford!

My truck starts fine but as misses when driving

The trouble shooting section in the Chilton/Haynes repair manual that covers your truck will lead you to most likely through least likely reasons for this stumble while running. I just checked my own repair manual (1992 GMC Sonoma). Most likely problem is in HEI system. I would suggest a full tune-up if one hasn't been done in memory, if at all. (My father-in-law bought a couple used cars that had misfire codes. Pulled the plugs and found they had NEVER been replaced in over 100,000 miles.) Replace plugs, wires, distributor cap etc. Be sure the plugs are gapped correctly, etc. Best of luck with your GMC. The bad news about these newer GMCs. I had to get a special wobble-socket and take the front tires off of my truck to change the front 2 spark plugs. You have to go through this little hatch type opening in the inner fender well to access them. What a bummer.

I have a 1999 gmc sonoma it cut off the other day

You have to check pressure at the fuel rail. Your fuel regulator could be bad or a filter clog.if its electrical check your codes. Remember you need fuel , air, spark to make it run.

Why does my 2.5 GMC sonoma truck skips or misses?

Worn timing belt or bad map sensor, weak ignition coil, worn distributor gear (usually starts hard with that) Leaking manifold gaskets all possible causes. Start with a new coil, spray starting fluid around manifold gasket while running, if it revs up in any certain spots, manifold leaking (intake only test), check vacuum lines for cracks and leaks,(MAP) replace sensor. Over 75,000 miles probably timing belt, recommended change interval is 60,000 miles.

I ask a question earlier today, said it posted about an hour ago. I can't find it. I need help with the 2008 GMC Envoy. We put a airflow pump on it, didn't solve the problem. We put a new

Disconnect the exhaust before the catalytic convertor and test drive 2004 to 2008 and above GMC catalytic tend to plug easy, If the catalytic is to difficult to disconnect, plus you need to secure from falling remove the 02 sensor on each bank before the catalytic, this may be a easy approach.Just to let you what effects the performace of the MAP sensor is a plug exhaust,it creates back pressure. And a IAT sensor goes 10% higher, Another problem the Envoy has is water intrusion into the spark plug recessed area creating misfire and rough idle, the water get past the COP (coil on plug),

Ck your exhaust pipe at rear of car noting any obnoxious smell like rottrn eggs. Hold a piece of paper, I use a dollar bill ,in in front of the exhaust. If it blows the paper gently, you have a catalyctic converter going or is bad. Will need replace if so.
