I would have the A/C checked for leaks, Sounds like you may have hit the lines with the battery exchange, and caused a leak, IF the compressor is low on freon it will not allow the clutch to engage the compressor, so you wont have a/c,, But the again it could be a fuse, Check the fuses and make sure there isn't a blown fuse, Also the relay could have a problem.. If its fairly new it should be under warranty.. Have it checked by a professional

Why doesn't the heat come on in my 2005 Chevy Silverado heat unless engine is running above 1200rpm ?

educated guess is that you have an air lock in the cooling system and the heat is only apparent when the high rpms push the water into the heater core
find the highest point a undo the hose and let any air out ( cool engine only as the water may be hot)

My 2005 silverado heater is blowing hot on pasenger`s side and cold on driver`s side.

I had the same problem due to a bad battery. When I replaced the battery the same issue with heat on passager side and cool on the drivers side. After turning the engine off and back on five times the computor reset it's self and both sides blew cool.
