Have a new stereo, need to take the dash apartg to install,,,how do i disasemble it?

You don't need to take the dash apart. You need a radio removal tool. It fits into the holes on the front of the radio. It looks like a U shaped piece of wire. Just google vw radio removal tool. You can buy or make one yourself.

Tail lights dash lights and turn signals not working


obviously it may have to do with the installation of the new stereo, while installing some fuse may have blown or wires are cut or wires were not put back in order.

The Toyota Corolla has been around long enough that many owners find themselves needing to replace the factory stereo. Installing a new stereo in the Toyota Corolla gives improved sound and updated features. Swapping out the stereo in the Toyota Corolla takes basic tools and less than an hour. This article covers models from 1990 to 2000.

Open the hood and remove the negative battery cable from the terminal. Apply the parking brake and place the car in "D."

    > Remove the trim from around the stereo by prying with your fingers at one corner. Some early models have two screws at the top of the trim piece to remove first. Allow the trim to hang on the drivers side of the dash if it's connected to the cigarette lighter.
    > Locate and remove the four screws holding the stereo in place. Pull the radio out of the dash and disconnect the wires from the back of the head unit.
    To install
    > Connect the wiring harness adaptor to the original harness and let it hang from the dash. Slide the new stereo into the Toyota radio mounting kit, which is a thin metal cover and secure it per the manufacturer's instructions. Most adaptors have screws to hold the stereo in place, however some have clips, which engage automatically.
    >Plug the wiring harness adaptor and antenna wire into the back of the new head unit and push the entire assembly into the dash. Reconnect the negative battery cable and turn the radio on.
    > Ensure all of the stereo controls and speakers are working. Secure the radio in the dash with the original four screws and replace the trim.

I need instructions on how to install an after market stereo in a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL.


Buy a metra dash kit and it will have step by step instructions,you will need harness too ,donot cut factory wires.!!!!!!!

How can i replace the manufacture radio in my car and replace it with aftermarket car stereo


You best bet, because of a warranty, is to have a professional shop install your stereo. But if you are like all of us guru's here, you like to get your hands dirty.

First you need to remove the dash around your factory stereo. Be patient here and try not to break any of the dash. You may need to remove screws and pop loose plastic retainers located on the backside of the dash.

Wire the after market stereo to the harness located below by maching the colors provided. Thank the stereo companies for making this simple. Use crimp connectors or solder your connections, which ever best suits you. Tape up any remaining wires with eectrical to minimize the chance of a short.

Take the metal sleeve provided by the sereo you choose and install it into the install kit located below. Once you have removed the factory stereo, test fit the install kit and attach any tabs neccessary provided by the kit.

Now take the aftermarket stereo and place into the sleeve you installe din the install kit until it clicks into its locks. Now, the harness you wired up earlier, plug it into the factory harness and then into you stereo. Hook up the antenna, you may need to purchase a antenna adapter. Now before you install the stereo, do a test run to make sure everything is working. Once you are content that it is all working, install the new stereo and then reverse the steps in removing the dash panel and stereo.

check your fuses, the one one the back off the head unit and under the dash, you may have shorted it out when installing it.

Stereo wont work


It sounds like a wire somewhere in the wires that run to the speakers is getting a short. Something very similar happened on my mothers car. I trouble shot it and eventually found out it was the stereo that needed replacing.
You can buy a new stereo anywhere that sells them. Be cautious of used as you never really know what you are getting. Installing a new stereo is not very difficult but you have to make sure you have everything you need. You can get everything you need at your local electronics store. Just go to the mobil audio section and tell them which stereo you want and that you need the stuff to install it. All the places around where I live have free instalation with the purchase of a new stereo. Most after market stereos will require a dash kit to fill in the space left over from the size difference between the factory stereo and the after market stereo.

New radio installed - now dash lights don't work


Most factory stereos are wired to the dash dimmer switch. Usually if the dash lights go out after an after market stereo installation, it is because the wire that originally went to the factory stereo is not used for after market stereos. Double check the fuses and ensure the wire that controlled the lights on the factory stereo is not grounding out on something.

remove screws from dash face, remove dash face. two 10mm bolts hold stereo in place,remove bolts, gently pull stereo out. unplug stereo. install new stereo by reversing the directions

Hi there, I have a 1990 Volkswagen Jetta Flair 2. I've had the car for about a year now and overall it's been an excellent car for it's age. However, there's always something that needs to be fixed and lately I've had throttle response problems. I do not have any mechanical backround, so I will describe it as best as I can. For one, it seems apparent this is an issue when the engine is cold (or not sitting in the sun all day). I will put the foot down, and it won't respond until it gets to about 3000rpm (right around when I'm thinking about changing gears), and then it rocket ships forward. Before it finally responds, there's a lot of shaking going on in the engine bay. It doesn't sound pleasant either. I took it in for an oil change, and they put fuel injector in it and it seemed to be a temporary solution. Whatever the case, there's a poor connection between me putting the throttle down and the car responding to the action. I do rev it up before I get going, but it's kind of futile. So as a result, I have a tendency to stall in first gear at low speeds as the gas doesn't react when I want it to, and the clutch is usually released by that point. After about 5-10 minutes of constant driving, it will accelerate smoothly. If you can point me in the right direction, whether it's "fuel" related, or it's some sort of heat sensor (I have no idea what I'm talking about), let me know if you've had similar experiences. All my repairs have cost me less than a 100 each time, I want to keep it that way.
