Why might my car not start?

My HHR was in a minor side swipe collision a couple months ago. the computer system in the car said low engine power when it was running after the collision. the garage it was towed to let the battery die so I had to replace it. the car started right away with the new battery. it sat for two days after the new battery and it will not start now. the lights and gauges come on but there is no sound when I turn the key to start it.

Think the battery is dead. It is possible that the accident caused some damage to the wiring so that when you shut it down, the battery is being discharged.
Get battery charged and car running. then with car totally off hook up ammeter to battery and look for current draw. Then start removing fuses till you come across the circuit responsible for the draw and further troubleshoot that circuit for the offender. Till you find it leave fuse out so you can start car a few days later.

2013 Lexus fuel pump sounds like it turns on with engine turned off.

Depending how often that happened and how long it runs it is a normal behavior. Modern cars use computer to read the pressure in the fuel system. When pressure is low computer start the pump for maintaining the optimal fuel pressure for an easy start of the engine. For example I own a VW from 2003 and fuel pump starts running for a couple of seconds when I first open the driver door after a long period of time (2-3 hours). If fuel pump runs very often or for more than 5 seconds could be for 2 reasons: 1- fuel leaks (could be minor but loose the fuel system pressure) . 2- the fuel pump is no longer in best shape and make no more the optimal pressure, but in this case you will have also engine lacks of power and other engine problems like hard starts when engine is cold. So if your fuel pump starts from time to time for 2 or 3 seconds you don`t have to worry about

What could be wrong with my 2006 Chevrolet HHR?

Sounds like a programming or electonic problem If it was to replace an ignition switch, the dealership may have flashed the computer with the wrong information to operate you vehicle or match up with the replaced part.. You will most definitely have to take it back.

The first place to start would be with the new ignition switch. What you are saying sounds like a defective switch.

Car wont start after accident

Some vehicles have an impact switch that shuts the fuel of, in event of an accident, give your Honda dealer a call they should be able to tell you how to activate it

We have a 2004 60R withch has been great until a minor frontend, parking lot, collision a year ago.. the front bumper was replaced and the headlights have never worked well since. They point so far down...

Hello
Due to the collision a frame was damaged - that's why your headlamps are not lighting the road well. Try taking off the front bumper, headlamps, grill, fender and take a look for bended frame. I would take a hammer and bend the headlamp connections so that all the lamp turn a few degrees upwards. Then when you put everything back together - use your headlamp height regulator to make the beam light properly.
Hope this helps.
