DASHBOARD LIGHT WONT WORK 63 MERCURY MONTEREY BREEZWAY

You probably need to pull the instrument cluster out and replace the illumination bulbs from the backside of the instrument cluster. All the bulbs back there are likely all the same ( your illumination and warning bulbs), so change them all. Happy motoring!
How to get the cluster out? Look for screws to remove. Get any bezel or trim plates out of the way. Check for screws again, cluster should pull out a few inches, then reach behind and unclip the speedo cable from back of cluster, then pull off the electrical plug from back of cluster. Now should be able to remove the cluster. Hopefully your steering wheel will allow cluster to be removed, but if not, take off the steering wheel's center nut, the pull off the steering wheel-sometimes a steering wheel puller is required-an inexpensive tool available at parts store.

Of course, before doing all this, check for a blown instrument panel fuse-something like instr. lmps, or instr pnl designation.
Good luck.

How hard Is It To change a heator core or should I say How Long will It take

Removing the instrument panel from a vehicle is generally a complicated process. There are several external parts you first need to disconnect, like trim panels and the steering wheel. However, because some internal components like the heater core are stored behind the instrument panel, replacing them requires removing the instrument panel (and the necessary external parts before it). The exact process can always vary for each model vehicle, but there is a general process to keep in mind for most models.
  • 1 Make sure the wheels on the vehicle are facing straight ahead and lock the steering column. Disconnect the negative battery cable from inside the engine. If the vehicle has air bags, wait at least two minutes for them to discharge.
  • 2 Disconnect the trim panels surrounding the door frames. Many of these can be pried off with a trim tool; others might be screwed on with the screws needing to be removed.
  • 3 Remove the center console if there is one by prying off all its trim bezels, unscrewing and removing the trim panels and removing all fasteners (some may be concealed, like under the floor of the console glove box).
  • 4 Detach and remove the steering wheel. Disconnect the air bag from the wheel by loosening the Torx screws mounting it to the wheel and disconnect the electrical connectors. Mark the steering shaft's relationship to the hub, remove any bolts securing the shaft and use a puller to disconnect the wheel.
  • 5 Remove the instrument cluster above the steering column. Remove the cluster bezel by removing any pushpins and clips holding it in place. Remove the mounting screws at the top, then pry the panel off its bottom clips with the trim tool, pull out the cluster and disconnect the electrical connectors.
  • 6 Remove the glove box from the passenger side. Open the box and remove any screws at the corners, then squeeze the sides to clear the stoppers and pull it out. Disconnect the electrical connector for the passenger air bag if there is one and detach the air bag module.
  • 7 Pry out and remove all other trim panels attached to the instrument panel. Remove all the air conditioner/heater/defroster vents.
  • 8 Lift the instrument panel up and towards the rear of the vehicle--this will likely require an assistant's help. Disconnect any other electrical connectors you see, then carry the panel out the driver's side door.

  • heater core should be behind all of this stuff that has to come out to get to it wait theres more read on and then

    How to take out instrument cluster in 2000 buick century odometer lights out

    The instrument cluster in the 2000 Buick Century features an analog odometer that is back-lit, making it possible to see during night driving. Over time this light has a tendency to burn out, which can make for unsafe night driving as the driver will not be able to see all of the information usually at his disposal while driving. Replacing this light takes some time and requires you to be careful when disconnecting the wiring harnesses.
    jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); }); Difficulty: Moderate Instructions

    4. 4 Unscrew the one screw on the dash panel underneath the steering wheel.
