Check codes first. Then check grounds. Battery to body, battery to engine and engine to body.

2005 Stratus 2.7 fuel delivery problem

Hello. You covered all that I would cover yet it's, still, a fuel system problem. Your Dodge will run until the 'spray' is gone then stop running again. The next thing it can be is the ECM itself. The ECM controls engine component functions; fuel pump, EGR, ignition timing etc. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

I have a 1997 suzuki sidekick JX 4×4 and it was running fine I had the computer checked and the o2 sensor and a calorie converter needed to be changed so I did that and it was running great and I turned it...

wont crank or cranks fast but will not start???????????????
2door or 4 doors? (wired diffr they are)
its an old car, and most fail this old. "entropy"
first off, 3 things must be good on this old engine.
1: compression. at above 150 psi, 180 warm not 80.
if compression is low an all 4 cylinders (G16b engine) the cam belt slipped, do to owers not changing belt at 60,000 miles !
2: bad spark, test for spark at all 4 cylinder yet? if bad spark
use a scan tool and see why, cranking for 5 seconds. P03xx errors?
at this point the engine runs on test fuel. does it?

3: bad fueling , too much or too little or none)
is engine flooding, spark tips wet,
no dry, and test fuel runs car for 3 seconds.
ok that means the pump is dead, or weak
caused by (again a real 60k tuneup skipped, the filter)
replace filter. omg got 30psi pump pressure,
lets say pump pressure is still weak, lets say 15psi, (failed)
i check pump voltage cranking, omg, got 8v. the wires
behind left rear tail light (2door) pink wires or ground there bad.
ok got 12vdc to pump. but is weak
i then check FPR, fuel pump reg on fuel rail. i find it is stuck wide open, a new FPR gets pressure to 30 running and 40 not running.
fixed.
no the FPR is ok, the pump is bad. (last, pumps is last in my book as the work is long and hard, and why do that if , its not bad. as most all seem to do on forums.)

no start has 50 causes.
see scotty do the TEST FUEL test.

http://www.fixkick.com/nostart.html

we dont know what checked filter and pump means.
1: filter is there and looks pretty?
2: pump makes noise?
we use a fuel pressure gauge for 20 bucks.

all 9 pump tests are here, and the there tests for injector leakdown
and injector balance tests. all off one tool.
not starting can even be, leaking injector, folding 1 cylinder bad.

Emergency fuel shut off

There is no emergency shutoff for the fuel pump. It is controlled from the ECM. There is a fuel pump relay in the relay/fuse box under the hood. But if you have power to the pump, it is probably ok. Having had a 1999 Dakota I had a situation where I was having intermittent shutdowns when driving that became more and more frequent. Sometimes I could restart immediately, other times I had to wait from 10-30 minutes before I could get a restart. I assumed a faulty fuel pump and replaced it only to find that it did not solve my problem. I researched the issue and found that the Dakotas and Durangos have a tendency to have faulty crankshaft position sensors. It will mimic a fuel pump issue since when the ECM loses sensor input, it shuts off the fuel pump. Test the pump this way - in a quiet setting, turn the key to the ON position, but do not crank the engine. With the drivers door open listen for a 2-3 second humming sound from the rear of the truck. This is the fuel pump priming the system to get fuel rail pressure. What then happens is once you start cranking and the engine fires, the ECM turns the pump on full-time. If the crank sensor is bad, the ECM cannot see that the engine is turning over and does not generate spark or fuel injector pulses, so even the fuel pump prime works, if it worked won't start the engine. At least if you hear the prime, you'll know the pump is functioning.

Pontiac Aztek 2001 - 3.4l (non-GT); Codes: P0135, P0141, P0420 all O2 + Converter. Ideas on problem?

P0135 bank 1 sensor 1 open or short in wires, bad connections, bad sensor ,or bad ecm. P0141 bank 1 sensor 2 same diag as P0135. P0420 cat below threshold open or short, or faulty Ho2s sensors.you may have several problems. start with sensors circuit if good change sensors if not trace to ecm if reading not right replace ecm if all good replace sensors clear codes retest drive two drive cycles for cat to clear tests. then with no dtcs present test fuel pressure , injectors, then ignition system ,timing valves ,map, maf sensors, throttle sensor, crank sensor cam sensor, compression.

Tracker started fine let warm up for 20 minutes went out and it had died. thought it was fuel pump but tested all pressure for pump and fuel pressure regulator is fine. now its between the distributor ...

Same thing with mine. I replaced the fuel pump..which was not the problem. This seems to be a common problem with Trackers, SideKicks and Vitara's. From what I can find on the internet, the next thing would be the ECM or crank sensor and since you have to drop the transmission to get to the sensor, I'm gonna try the ECM next.

1997 GMC Savana - Car "stutters" when on incline or warmed up

their are a multitude of reasons the majority or the usual suspects are - if any codes have read and most auto stores offer this service for free --needs tune up ---egr valve carboned or failing --fuel pump /filter failing or partial clogging --catylic converter failing or clogging --injectors- tbi needs replacement or rebuild-- bad fuel any of these can cause such problems and not set off the check engine light
