Question about Chevrolet Tracker

90 Tracker. Revisiting the fuel problem. I thought the same way about the pressuer in the return line. I pluged it off with my finger to see if there was any change in the output from the injector. Still did not spray into the TB. However I will order one today and see if that might make a difference. any other ideas will be helpfull. Steve

Did that first. plenty of fuel coming into the TB after pulling the Injector out. According to the book the inj. should have 1.0-2.0 ohm's of resestence across the coils. it didnt check out so I bought a new one. still no spray. Another poster said I should not have the same 70 psi pressuer at the return to the tank that comes into the TB. I ordered a new regulator. If this dont fix it I will look at the TPS. although the TPS is not listed a s a poss cause to a no start problem in the manual. Any further imput will be appreciated. Steve

no SES light on dash. So I would assume no trouble codes. This tracker has set for several yrs sence the last owner devoloped this problem.I have a new press reg comming this afternoon. hopefully this will fix it and then I will have to see what other problems it may have once running.

From the look of the plugs and the low oil level I suspect shes a smoker. rad was also dry.but I got it cheep enough that any work i put into it should be worth while. body is near perfect and Int is in above average shape for its age.

Have you checked the injector harness with a "noid" light to see if you are getting an injection pulse from the ECM?
Also, was the fuel pressure tested using a pressure gauge, if so, what was the reading.

How much fuel pressure registered on the gauge?

If you know you have good fuel pressure and you believe the injector is pulsing, there would be no reason for lack of fuel other than a blockage of some sort.

I would definitely recheck fuel pressure and verify as well as verify the ECM pulse with a noid light.

Your fuel pressure should only be 34 to 40 lbs. with a TBI unit, 70 lbs. is way over limits.

Verify the above and let me know.

If there is an issue with the distributor pickup then there is no injector pulse. The noid light would have verified and we could have moved on to the distributor pickup. The distributor pickup tells the ECM when to pulse the injector by way the hall effect switch.

    Good luck.

    Regards,

Do u have any injector pulse?, you should see it spray fuel into the intake every 180 degrees of crankshaft revolution, it is very uncommon for an injector to fail, it is ,more likely you have another problem, do u have any system trouble codes, u will need a scanner to check this.

Once you pull the injector you should be able to turn the key on and if fuel is dumping into the throttle body and you know for certain you had power to the back of injector it most certainly would be injector.sometimes you can just clean those and get them back to life. Take it off and check to make sure the inlet on the injector has no obstruction and you cand clean it with throttle body cleaner in your hand real well and attempt to put it back on. You may get lucky.

How to drain the fuel tank on 2013 sun tracker fishing barge 22 DXL

Disconnect the fuel line from the engine and run it into whatever you will be storing the fuel in. The fuel pump should engage when you turn on the switch unless there is a fault from no return pressure in the pump sensor. Be careful! and work safe! Don't blow yourself up for pete's sake.

Replacing fuel filter for 1999 chevrolet tracker

Passenger side, undeneath, next to fuel tank.
Your 2002 Chevy Tracker (2wheel drive and 4wheel drive are the same) with the 2.5L V-6 has an inline fuel filter located on the passenger(right hand) side of the vehicle. Just behind the wheel well on the underside of the vehicle next to the fuel tank is where you'll find it. If you've never changed a fuel filter on a fuel injected vehicle, watch out for the quick connect fittings as you could damage the flexible plastic fuel line. Most auto parts stored sell tools to disconnect the fittings, but I have better luck with fingers, pliers and maybe a small flat bladed screw driver. Also, you'll need to de-pressurize the system before removing the old one or fuel could spray out when disconnected.

1994 Ford 4L ....changed the fuel filter and now it's flooding all 6 cyl....replaced the fuel pressure regulator and checked for codes...no codes.?????

Sounds like your fuel return line is pluged.disconect it after the regulater and run a temporary line to the tank.if it stops flooding, your return line is kinked or plug.

Rent a pressure tester from Schucks and you get your money back test the fuel pressuer but I can bet the filter hasnever been changed, try changing it first, it's behind the passenger front wheel, remove the wheel it's easier to get to and replace the filter under the intake manifold.

Low fuel pressure

Remove air filter and unplug the mass air flow sensor and try again. if i cranks clean the MAF. check sensors for skewed readings that won't set codes but will upset computer.
