81418784532&item=281418784532">G1900 Kubota, the glow plugs are energized when the keyswitch is moved halfway to the start position. Also the glow plug indicator light is illuminated when in this position. I hold the key in that position until the glow plug light goes out, and then crank the engine. On really cold days I repeat the glow plug cycle several times before cranking.
check that the relay is working as the plug indicator gets the power after the relay . It may be a fuse . If the relay is ok then pull the Glo-plugs and have them check
need to check the glow plugs.Simple.
Take a test light ,hook the clip to the POSITIVE post of the battery.
Unplug the feed wire from all the glow plugs ,
The light should light on all 8 when touched to the top post.
If you have 1 or 2 that don't work it might start ,any more and it won't.
No power to the glow plugs means no power to the light also. You have a bad fuse or connection to the glow plug relay. Fix that and your good to go. Has nothing to do with your indicator lights on either side of dash. Glow Plug power indicator is labeled THAT and only that.
I'm going to assume you has the diesel version of the Sprinter.
Diesel is just like a good old COX airplane engine.
The engine need to heat up by glow plugs.
You need to turn the key to on position and let the glow plug relay to energize the glow plugs for 5-X numbers of seconds first.......it all depend on the temperature.
The temp. sensor on the engine block will take all the guess work out for you.
When the dash indicator goes out then your are ready to start.
This is the correct procedure to start an diesel engine.
=== Please disregard this post if you has a gasoline version of the Spiniter.
