Best guess is a faulty relay switch, or a blown fuse. You could also look for any frayed or worn wires. Check the ground wire as well. Good luck, hope I helped, Grim

The best suggestion would be that the cruise control needs replaced. The problem could be in your column but this is rare. Cruise controls can only take so much abuse and many people are unaware of the abuse they give. Constant on and off or accelerating manually while cruise control is on can burn up your cruise control.
well the first thing is to check all your fuses, then i would take a look under the hood for any broken or disconnected vacuum lines, this is what i would check first, hope this is helpful.
The BRAIN BOX which is known by most car owners controls the throttle boy accellerations control when engaging the cruise control on. If your fuses are good I recomend have the servo (brain box) checked
Here's the situation, there was a factory recall on the cruise control module for Explorers and Expeditions during recent years and your vehicle may be included. This is very important because in some vehicles this faulty cruise control module sparked and caught on fire. Here's what you do, call the Ford dealer in your area(service) with the vin number to your vehicle, they will tell you if your vehicle was under this factory recall and if it is they will replace it for free. I would be very careful as you may have one of these faulty modules. Hope this helped.
make sure brake lights are working,if working brakepedal switch fine.it is most likley the cruise control cut out switch.blue and white switch on brake pedal.
The most common solution is to replace the brake light switch . The switch has 3 sets of contacts one set is for the cruise control. If the cruise control part is at fault the cruise control will not engage. The switch typically costs from 10 to 15 dollars.
