You may have an issue with the pick up abs signal sensor located on the outer end of the cvu joint shaft right where it goes into the spindle carrier it may not be located close enough or it may have been bumped out of alignment during install or it may be to close to its pick up, inspect it I think it should be about .025" feeler gauge air gap between sensor pick up and magnetic delivery ring.

Where is the fuse for the 2002 highlander ABS

The fuse for the ABS in a 2002 Highlander is in the black plastic covered box under the hood. If you take the fuse out, the ABS warning light and the emergency brake warning light will illuminate on your dashboard. The brakes will work as if you never had ABS, and the car will chime when you first start off if the emergency brakes are on.

Abs light on in my ford ranger 1999

ABS light tells you that there is some problem with the brake system like you have forgot to release the emergency brake or its time for you to change the brake fluid. Ford recommends to change the brake fluid every year.If you have recently refilled the brake fluid , check for any leaks.Abs light indicates that your braking system needs to be serviced.

I,m tired to figure out the lihts ABS and Brake on some times and the abs system dont respond and emergencies cases,I replace the shocks front and rear, also i change the master cilynder and the brake...

check out the abs sensor, it is located on the rear axle of the truck, bolted to the 'pumpkin'-they commonly fail and exhibit all the symptoms you are describing.

My brake lights won't go off and I'm getting a message on the dashboard that has trackoff and a yellow antilock light

Your car may be low on Brake fluid. Pop the hood and check the brake fluid reservoir. There is usually a line that shows how much fluid should be in the reservoir. It should be pretty full, so add fluid if needed. Perhaps you have some sort of brake fluid leak?

I would take a calculated guess that it is strictly a saftey factor (in an emergancy on the highway if your foot is on the brake you are less likely to be rear ended) and if this is indead true, than it is wired to the battery independant of your starter switch

If the brake lights are staying on even with your foot off the brake, it may be that the switch controlling the brake lights is broken. Beware; this can drain the battery, think in wire shortage.

Keep us updated.

How to install abs ring?

ABS ring at front fits on CV joint and should come fitted on a new joint. if not fitted, can be tapped on lightly and evenly using a hammer and punch. rear ABS ring fits inside brake drum. when changing discs/drums ring must be tapped off with punch placed through wheel bolt holes to back of ring. to refit tap on to inside of drum.

No, absolutely not, although the EBCM might possibly be the problem, it is a costly item and 95% of the time is replaced for nothing. Make sure to get the system diagnosed properly, if he can't get a reading from the diagnostic machine, check the abs (EBS) fuse(s), it (they) might be burnt. Then check for fluid level and fluid leaks in the brake system. If these are OK, get the wiring checked to the EBCM for powers, grounds, and data (diagnostics).
