Where is the fuel shut off switch that cuts fuel when airbags are deployed in a 2010 Camaro ss located

    2010 Chevrolet Camaro

PARTS THAT MUST BE REPLACED FOLLOWING DEPLOYMENT

After a collision with frontal air bag deployment, replace the following components. If you detect any damage to the mounting points or mounting hardware, repair or replace the mounting points and mounting hardware as needed:

    * Driver steering wheel air bag [AIRBAG,STEERING WHEEL]
    * Passenger instrument panel air bag, if deployed [AIRBAG,INSTRUMENT PNL]
    * Inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM), if SDM has DTC B0052 56 [MODULE,AIRBAG CONTROL]
    * Front and/or side impact sensors [AIRBAG SENSOR,FRONT; AIRBAG SENSOR,QTR PANEL]
    * Driver/Passenger seat side air bag, if deployed [AIRBAG,FRONT SEAT]
    * Seat back cover on if side seat air bag is deployed
    * Driver/Passenger seat belt anchor and/or retractor pretensioners
    * Replace any seat belt system that was in use during the collision serious enough to deploy any automatic restraint device such as air bags and seat belt pretensioners

  • Brad Brown Aug 14, 2015

There are three buses and two modules if the SDM is not sending a signal to the PCM. Then those modules must be checked.

Ok so to simply fire up the engine again there is no way to do this without replacing every sensor and fuse in the system? Car was a roll over want to fire the engine prior to taking it out of car any way to bypass these sensors?

  • Brad Brown Aug 16, 2015

What fuel pump system is in that? Some have dual systems.

There is none. Those functions are controlled by the computer ECM

Ok so can it be done via the ecu? If not how does one fire the engine after fuel was cut off due to airbag deployment?

SOURCE: Airbags deployed

You have to disconnect the battery, replace the air bag modules (air bag modules are the things that explode in your face) and the crash sensors and the control unit or module that came with it. Reconnect the battery and the car should start. Hope this is helpful.

SOURCE: how do i reset airbags

well firstly, did they make airbags in 1949? did they make camaros in 1949? lol guess it was a typo, If you have replaced the airbags, hopefully you did this with the battery disconnected, if you didn't and they didn't deploy, then you were lucky, many injuries have occurred with people replacing and connecting them with the power still connected. Now as for the light, unfortunaltly there is not a safer method other than to take it to a dealer to check and reset the codes, ot costs about $45, but a small price to pay for peace of mind.

SOURCE: 2000 Chevrolet Malibu LS airbag problems

The passenger side airbag is a lot easier then driver side. Take the glove box out and you will see two 10mm bolts holding it in place. When you open the passenger side front door, remove the panel on the side of the dash and you will see yellow connectors. The 1 closest to the front is attached to the air bag, it is clipped into the frame. Just pull it loose and take it out and your done. For the Driver side, it takes a skinny T27 to remove the two star bolts, then just disconnect the horn red clip and ground and install new airbag. The module is located under the passenger seat, underneath the carpet. Kinda stupid but thats where its at. You also need to replace the front impact sensor located behind the grille on the back side of the metal bar to each side. Follow the hood latch down. Also just to make sure, you know to disconnect the battery before you do all this. You don't want new airbags to accidentally deploy.

Where is the fuel shut off switch in a 2005 buick terraza cxl

I am not sure what you are exactly asking about, but GM products do not have a fuel cutoff switch. The PCM sends power to the fuel pump to turn it on. The pump is turned off by the PCM when the airbags deploy.

I got in a accident and air bag deployed in a 2010 Hyundai Elantra and it was still running good and all of a sudden it just shut off, does it have an emergency fuel shut off switch that we can reset for...

I searched using Google.com and the following suggested locations to check are shown below:

https://www.yourmechanic.com/question/where-is-the-fuel-inertia-switch-on-a-2010-hyundai-sonata-by-heather-b

"On some Hyundai models, the switch is to the right of the brake master cylinder. Look for a switch with a red button. Other locations that Hyundai has used for this switch are in the passenger glovebox area and in the trunk. Those locations might be concealed. For more detailed advice on how to locate the fuel cut off switch please see YourMechanic's fuel cut off switch tutorial. If your vehicle has not been in a crash, and it doesn't start, it is unlikely that this switch is at fault. If your vehicle is not starting, the appropriate diagnostic is a no start diagnostic. If you have further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to re-contact YourMechanic as we are always here to help you. "

Where is the fuel cut off switch for a 2009 pontiac g6?

For a vehicle that new, it is integrated in with the airbag system. If your airbags are not deployed, the fuel switch is on. Problem lies elsewhere.

What should I check and/or reset on a '94 Camaro to get it to start after a minor collision which deployed the airbags?

If fuel pump issue, check the fuel pump relay. I wasn't sure of engine size, may not make a difference. Check the relay wiring circuits. The pink wire is voltage to load side of relay, fuse protected, goes hot with the key on. You can use a test lite to check for voltage. The control side of relay, left side, needs voltage and ground, that bottom wire is a chassis ground. That top wire is voltage, should be hot with engine cranking, comes from pcm. Hopefully that relay is located behind driver side kick panel, to the left of foot-well. If it isn't located in that area, then, I don't know?

I have a 2008 Mercedes E350 that won't start.checked relay it's fine.I don't hear fuel pump coming on.can it be the emergency shutoff switch and if so where is the location

The fuel disconnect is now tied to the ECM and no longer is a inertia switch. The ECM shuts off the fuel pump when the airbags deploy.

I DIDN`T FIND INERTIA SWITCH IN BEETLE

The crash fuel shut-off system is integral with the airbag system. The airbag module turns off power to the primary side of the fuel pump relay in the event of an airbag deployment. There is no resettable "switch".

1995 ford bronco - does the fuel pump shut off switch activate if airbag is deploed in a crash

The fuel deadman switch is an inertia-based switch, the momentum and sudden stop in a crash will set if off regardless of whether or not the airbag deploys. The airbag is set off by the closing of one crash sensor and one safing sensor simultaneously. I hope this helps
