Question about 2003 Nissan Sentra

Overheating in really hot part of day and especially with Ac

I have a 2.5 nissan sentra 02. Check engine light cameone day and car had a slight shake on start up, the code which read that there is a random misfire which then i used a block sealer because i thought it was a leaking head gasket or even worse cracked head. After the sealer the car started up fine no shake but then started to over heat after around ten minutes of driving and even worse when the ac is running. I have changed both upper and lower thermostats, and still no change. Its getting hotter and hotter everyday any Advice?!?!

The block sealer you used may have been too thick or too big. A leaking head gasket or cracked head is a rare cause for a cylinder misfire. Tryin putting a manufacture gasket back on and change the spark plugs. If that doesnt work, try checking your valves or pistons-- maybe you have worn valve guides or your cylinder wall is worn out.

Hi!

Check your car's idling it should be around 800 to 1,200rpm whether the ac is engaged or not.
Also, have your car's fuel mixture system checked. Most of the issues like this that I encountered involved a wrong air-to-fuel ratio, especially with carbureted engines.

Got the same make/model/year, but haven't had that problem. Does your temperature gauge run at half or above when this happens? If so, start with a cheap fix - new thermostat.

Another thing to consider is that some of the QR25DE engines equipped in the 02 Sentra SERs has an active recall on the crank position sensor. This fault would cause the check engine light to come on and the car would stall unexpectedly. It should start back up but the frequency of this will only increase without repair.

Also, no need to change plug wires, you have coil pack ignition - there is no distributor. If a coil pack is bad, you will have constant misfire and SES light.

1994 Nissan Sentra LEC problem

There is no carburetor on your car, it is fuel injected. Your coil is what fires the ignition. You can buy a Haynes manual, which has a troubleshooting section in it, but it sounds to me like you aren't really too sure around cars, so i'm going to suggest you find a reputable mechanic to take the car to. It may be a simple problem, but if you aren't comfortable working on cars, the mechanic is the best route. i'm sorry not to be of more help, but problems like this one can be caused by a variety of things only diagnosable while with the car to test as you go.

matt

Nissan Sentra "Service Engine Soon" and uncontrolable shaking.

I had the same problem. It was the intake gasket, very common in this model. A $12.00 gasket - Nissan wanted $1000.00 to install it. I got it done for $327.00 - engine light still remains on but car drives just fine.

I would suggest you get that taken care of right away, if that seal goes all the way in can cause some really expensive wear on your engine

Nissan sentra n16 temp. overheating

If all of the things you replaced are working fine I am going to say double check the thermostat. Also make sure your fan is engaging at temp. You cam check by running till warm and then running the AC. If the car does not overheat with the AC on then your fan is not running under normal conditions (with AC off) This can be caused by a couple of different things depending on how the fan is set up. Heater blowing cold air

My 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8s with 55,000 mi. blows cold air from the heater. Coolant not circulating in engine. Lower hose stays cool to touch. Both heater hoses cold. Changed thermostat - didn't fix it. Coolant not leaking or dirty. None in oil - no oil in radiator. Changed worn water pump belt - pump spins freely with no noise or resistance. Cooling fans come on after warm-up. Temperature gauge stays in normal range then jumps to hot and back again. Coolant good to 10 below - didn't freeze here yet. No other problems or repairs to car. Afraid to drive and make worse. Help!

2005 Nissan Sentra, AC blowing hot & engine overheating

most likely a thermostat because the pressure on the a\c will be high if engine is over heating or the fans are not kicking on (check fan relay)
