Question about 1999 Ford Taurus

My O/D sensor keeps coming on...I took it to a repair shop and they ''cleaned'' it because it was gunky. How likely is it that I will be looking at a new transmission to overcome this problem?

Please take it to a dealership, they will not guess or waste you're money and stand behind all work. the O/D light is diagnostics for transmission faults. please don't gamble and replace a trans if its just a valve body or solenoid. you may save money from a shop guessing and costing you more money.

I have a 2006 Buick Rendezvous. The radiator coolant has leaked into the Transmission. How can I fix this outside of replacing the transmission?

You have a real problem on your hands. Not only did coolant get into the transmission, transmission fluid most likely got into your coolant as well. The trans fluid will eat the lining of all the rubber cooling hoses and cause them to soften and eventually fail, and will cause a black, gunky color in the coolant. You will need to:
1. Replace the radiator since the trans cooler inside has broken.
2. Replace all coolant hoses and flush the entire cooling system.
3. Have the transmission rebuilt or replaced to ensure all coolant traces have been removed.

There is no easy fix for this....I had to do it myself.

My 3.8 olds silhouette keeps bogging and stalling took it to shop said it was egr put a new one on kept doing same thing took it back said it was air flow sensor put that on keeps doing same thing bogging...

Just took our 3.8 olds silhouette in for almost the same thing...first they changed and greased all the coils, yet it kept doing the puttering, soft bucking, and sputtering thing with just a bit of shifting would come up and then no codes would come up, so they changed out the is riding somewhat smoother, yet still has a little sputtering and even died once or twice but always starts right back up...they found a crack in the radiator that was leaking coolant on to the throttle positon sensor (TPS) , which now with the new computer in it, that is the only code coming our plans are to get a new throttle position sensor (TPS) and replace it ourselves, because we have already paid the mechanics shop $491.53 for the repairs stated above...but we have to replace the radiator before putting in a new sensor or it will get fouled up too! I am hoping the TPS replacement will finally cure my green space shuttle! I also hope this helps your predicament too!

Ill be driving my truck for about 10-15 minutes and my truck just stops running. i took it to the garage and they cleaned the throttle body and now my truck just starts up and the rpms sky rocket. there...

Depending on the motr it sounds like either a crank or cam sensor is going bad. If the shop you took it to did not figure that out by looking at the codes your at the wrong shop. This is very common for most Chrysler products.

The check engine light keeps turning on after I have the oxygen sensor replaced. I've had the sensor replaced 3 times as the light keeps turning on and the shop keeps telling me that that's the only thing...

are they replacing the correct sensor? try bringing it to a vw specific shop that is not a dealer! make sure the air filter is not clogged. without doing a full scan in vag-com it would be very hard to diagnose the problem

Temperature level spiking when accelerating

sounds like your thermostat may be stuck shut, blocking the flow of coolant through your engine block. it cools down again because of the cool air coming through the rad.

Service engine light keeps coming back after repairs with the same code

did the shop that first worked on it properly reset the code to zero? The light will keep coming on no matter what repairs you do unless the code is properly reset.

Check Engine Light

It sounds like you may have a failing Mass Air Flow sensor, seems like Ive been seeing these tied together quite often. Its a little tricky but a good repair shop should be able to test this sensor. I dont want to tell you to replace it without having it tested cause they are a bit pricey but check around, you never know. Hope this give youu another idea where to look.

2000 Accent ECU fuse

try by unplugin the oxigen sensors, specially if this car has been in an mufler shop for catalitics or mufler repairs, sometimes they are not to carrefull and might damage an oxigen sensor, this sensor are located on the mufler pipe, and they look similr to an spark plug.
