Question about 1996 Chevrolet Astro
My 96 chevy astro doesnt is slow starting when cold.
Provided that you are using the proper oil for your temperatures(it's in the manual) the next thing would be have your battery tested, check/clean the wires and connectors that lead from the battery to the starter and also to ground.
Cold weather puts a larger stress on the starting system and that is when problems start to show up.

If you mean in cold weather try a winter blend oil and allow your van to warm up a little 5 minutes before driving.
