If you have a lot of miles on the engine, it could be wear. After the oil warms up and pumps the lifter up to normal it will quieten down. It also could be just dirty lifters, beginning to stick. I would run an additive like risilone to the oil for a couple of oil changes( might even change oil 1,000 miles between changes to see if cleaning the lifters make a difference.

What will be the problem if i have a taping noise when i start my car until it gets warm mitsubishi 380

A tapping noise that starts out cold and goes away when warm is usually caused by a valve lifter inside the engine. The lifter may be worn/leaking down and will be noisy until it fills with oil pressure. You can try an oil additive ( Lucas Oil Additive ) available at most part stores works very well with noisy lifters. Another noise that can happen cold and go away when warm is an exhaust manifold leak. However, this is normally a ticking type sound rather than a tapping sound.

Why would the lifters on my 2014 dodge caravan be noisy when i first start it up?

When was the last time, you changed the oil? If it's been a long time, that could be the problem.

Volvo s40 1.8 noise from housing on rocker cover

The lifters are hydraulic on this model and as a result they are noisy for about the first 15 minutes after cold start. As a precaution I would just make sure to check your oil level as being really low on oil will cause the rockers not to pump up with oil as well. Oil pressure causes the rockers to expand under pressure via the oil pump. If the car has extremely high miles I would maybe have the oil pump replaced during next timing belt job.

OIL LITE WENT ON LIFTERS WRE NOISY OIL LEVEL IS GOOD HOW CAN YOU CHECK TO SEE IF OIL PUMP IS GOOD

I would be checking the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge . If you have used the correct viscosity oil the lifters should stop being noisy after a minute of starting the engine . If it is the pump then you will have to replace it but it may be a loose oil pick up line or loose pump allowing the oil pressure to escape back into the sump.

Noisy start in the morning

I am assuming that you used el cheapo oil filter rather than a known brand in the service. Oil filters have a non drain back valve built into the filter to stop your problem but some cheap or wrong filters do not have this valve hence your problem.. The noise goes when the oil pressure fills up all the hydraulic lifters and oil pressure is achieved.

2001 Buick Lesabre lifters noisy

Have you tried flushing the engine crank case? You may have sludge clogging the valve lifter oil pressure ports. Get a can of Berrymans brand Chemtool, add it to a cold engine crankcase oil and run it for 5 miles or so, then change the oil and see if the noise level improves. Some tapping noise on cold start is normal and not a sign of any problem. If the noise goes away in my opinion I'd just do the flush of the system and then leave it alone.

I have a 2004 Toyota Tacoma. During the last 2 months when I start the truck in the morning I hear a "tac, tac, tac, tac ...." noise for 30s to 1 min than it stops when I drive away. This...

This is most likely a noisy lifter (or valve tappet). In cold weather, the clearances in the valve train open up because metal contracts due to the cold. Once the oil pressure comes up after start the noise goes away because the larger clearance fills with oil and the lifter becomes "cushioned" with the oil. The proper fix is to have the valves adjusted. I believe in your model, that is done by putting shims on the lifters. This will quiet the noisy lifters. In the short term, you can try using a lighter weight oil for cold weather. This will get the oil to the lifters faster after start up and quiet the tapping more quickly. Once the weather warms again, shift back to the normal weight.

When ever i first start my blazer up i can hear tapping on my motor then it fades away do you know what it can be?

Sounds like the lifters are tapping until the oil pump get oil up to them. Could be oil leaking out the top of the motor or your lifters may need adjusted.

My engine has a ticking at start up and goes away after a few minutes? I put some motor honey in it and it is better. what could this be?

It sounds as if the hydrallic lifters are bleeding off pressure after it sits. Which means the lifters somewhat collapse until they start getting oil pressure from the oil pump after you start it. You might try an oil change and an A/C oil filter. If it is the lifters, they would need to be replaced.
