Question about 2004 Volvo S60

I have a 2004 s60 and today i stopped at a red light. When trying to proceed it was stuck. finally it jolted and proceeded but with a jerking motion. immediately the transmission light came on. it has 59,000 miles.

Check the transmission fluid level.
It may be the problem.

Hesitation or jerking when proceeding forward


Remove the mass air flow sensor and clean it.You can get mass air flow sensor cleaner at most part stores.The sensor is on the air cleaner tube that goes into the throttle body.Hope this helps.Good luck.

It sounds like there may be an issue with your ignition system.

Check the ignition wires, distributor cap, spark plugs.

Stopping and starting


Check fluid level first on the transmission.
You could have a possible pump problem.

If the car will not turn over it would not be a fuel system related problem. If it were fuel related it would crank over but would not start.

If you have a "Autozone" in your area, go there and have them run a check on your alternator. It is free to do, and they will run engine error codes for you free of charge.

bonnie when you try to start the battery was dead if so it sound like alternator bad if the shop is not to far charge the battery you should be able to save the tow good luck pierre
