If you have never replaced the spark plugs it wouldn't be a bad time to do it.

2000 ford f 150 key wont turn in the ignition what do i do

Hi Rebecca, I'm Al the owner of Big As Auto Repair

Rebecca, sometimes the steering wheel can get locked in a position that will not allow you to turn the key. If the steering wheel is straight ahead ignore this first answer. Sometimes the key and tumblers ware out. If this is the case here's something you can try. Take a can of lube and spray right down the key so it enters the lock cylinder, next take something and hit on the end of the key several times then try to turn it. If this works you'll need to get the key and tumbler replaced right away because it will do it again. If you need further assistance go to my auto repair website below. Have an awesome day Rebecca. My car, a 1999 300 M, when it sits for a couple of days wont start on the first try..it will click ...sometimes but you have to keep turning the key on over and over.. some thimes it takes longer to start...

Yes, you have dead spots an the starter commutator. The way to tell is this: the next time it happens, get a hammer and hit the starter dead on the side. If it then starts, replace the starter.

My 1997 chevy tahoe does not start right away.

Sounds like a starter problem, suggest you get it checked at your local trusted mechanic the next time it starts... If the starter is your problem it wont start for many more times.

check battery cables & terminals for tightness & corrosion.also check at starter.check starter bolts & actual starter for looseness.if no problems found your starter may be on its way out.next time it happens hit starter with hammer or heavy object if it starts right up get ready to replace it.good luck

5 speed, have to turn the key 2 or 3 times to get it started

Possible fuel problem, try replacing the fuel filter. You might have to turn the key a couple of times in order for the fuel to get to the engine. The longer you let it sit the less pressure it'll have in the fuel lines.

Problems when starts..

Turn your key on for 10 seconds but do not start the engine. That will give the fuel pump time to built pressure. After the 10 seconds try starting the engine. If it starts right away you may have a weak pump or dirty filter.

Car losing power and turning off

if your car is 2003+ try turning the key to run (but not crank) then to acc. 3 times and the engine codes will show up on the odometer, then you can look up what those codes are to help diagnose some of the problems.
