My 2001 Dodge Statues Coupe RT.has random mis fires. I have replaced bank 1 o2 sensors but it still mis fires as I give it gas to accelerate. Your thoughts? Steve

O2 sensors won't make misfires they only monitor air in the emissions if you have a random misfire it's most likely gonna be your coil pack or a cam pos sensor the cam sensor detects the location of the cam and tell the pcm and it tells the coil to fire your are getting O2 codes cause it detects unburned fuel it the exhaust

How do I know the numbers for the spark plugs to a 2000 nissan exterra 6 cylinder suv?

the misfire could also be the coil that is what send's the spark to the distributor, if it is weak it will cause a random mis fire code for any cylinder, the plug wire's on my 2000 xterra are numbered it will be the second plug on the driver's side of the engine, the cam sensor will also give a mis fire code if it is malfunctioning, I have a 2000 xterra that is a night mare when it come's to code's and repair's it is not alway's the first thing you think with these vehicle's, try to change all the plug's and dis connect the battery for 20 minutes then hook it back up and run down to your local autozone or pep boy's and have them hook up an OBD to see if it is fixed or if another code appear's

Have a 2001 sl1 saturn check engine light came on said it was camshaft sensor book says it dont have one went with plugs wires and new crankshaft sensor still has mis fire cylender 1

Need professional tools & knowledge,
just to find a problem

Codes have nothing to do with the need
to install parts & do not tell you what is wrong

Data & Component testing, tells you what is wrong

Maybe you have failed valves on #1

Do a Cylinder Contribution Test, followed by
a Cylinder Leak Down Test & check chain or
belt timing

Cam input data is for fuel control

You went to the ignition for some reason

How to change the CAM sensor in a RX-300 ? Engine Malfunction light stays on and it has been diagnosed with a faulty CAM sensor which is causing the mis firing of certain cylinders

Possible but not likely. Usually a CAM sensor is uniformly bad on all cylinders when it is bad. I would suspect injectors or spark plug wires more. But the cam sensor is under the timing belt cover, in front.

Code p0300 replaced coil spark plugs and coil cover 2000 2.4 cavalier rpm up and down while ideling

The code is a mis-fire code. This code does not tell you which cylinder is mis-firing.
Here is a list of other items to check :

- O2 sensor
- Catalytic converter
- EGR valve
- Cam sensor
- Bad computer

Please let me know what you find.
