Warn up the engine and start monitor the tail pipe for small white vapor when the RPM drop.
If your engine has 100,000+ miles then it can be a small passage leak between the coolant and chamber.
Monitor the coolant lever and engine temp...make sure it's not over-heating.
DO a coolant pressure test to rule out blowing head gasket.

Sounds like camshaft sensor to me, had this hapen on my Mercedes
SOURCE: Lack of accelerating performance
this could be one of many problems or even a combination, most common are: clogged air filter, clogged catalytic converter, malfunctioning ECM, faulty mass airflow sensor, plugs/wires. take the vehicle in to have it diagnosed professionally. hope this helps.
Testimonial: "I will certainly take the car in for a diagnostic check up to see if they can identify the problem, it seems no straight answer to this problem."

1. The SAM module is only provided for the trailer tow socket. Therefore it does not have any influence to the fuel pump working.
2. Check the fuse no.# 1 - F1 (25A - white color) = Fuel pump, placed in the fuse box in luggage compartment. See picture below:
3. If the fuse no.# 1 is good, the most probable fault is a bad supply wire of the fuel pump.

Perform the fuel injector balance test. Refer to Fuel Injector Balance Test with Tech 2 .
DEFINITION: The engine delivers less than expected power. There is little or no increase in speed when partially applying the accelerator pedal.
Preliminary Checks
?€¢
Refer to Symptoms - Engine Controls .
?€¢
Compare the customer vehicle with a similar unit. Verify the customer concern.
?€¢
Remove the air filter and check for dirt or a restriction.
?€¢
Check the transmission shift pattern and the downshift operation. Refer to Symptoms - Automatic Transmission in Automatic Transmission.
Exhaust System Checks
?€¢
Check the exhaust system for a possible restriction. Refer to Restricted Exhaust in Engine Exhaust.
?€¢
Inspect the exhaust system for damaged or collapsed pipes. Inspect the muffler for heat distress or a possible internal failure.
Additional Checks
?€¢
Check the control module grounds for being clean, tight, and in their proper location.
?€¢
Check the torque converter clutch (TCC) operation. Refer to Torque Converter Diagnosis in Automatic Transmission.
?€¢
Check the A/C operation. Refer to HVAC Compressor Clutch Does Not Engage or HVAC Compressor Clutch Does Not Disengage in HVAC Systems- Manual.
?€¢
Check the generator output voltage. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Engine Electrical in Engine Electrical.
?€¢
Check the knock sensor (KS) system for retarded timing.
Engine Mechanical Check
Check the engine for the proper operation of the following items:
?€¢
Engine compression
?€¢
Valve timing
?€¢
Improper or worn camshaft
?€¢
Camshaft Phaser for proper operation
