REMOVE THE RADIO FUSE FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS THIS MAY RESET THE RADIO/CD PLAYER.

IF YOU DO INSTALL ANOTHER RADIO IT WILL HAVE TO BE PROGRAMMED AT A DEALER.

REMOVE THE COVERS ON THE SIDES OF THE DASH.

REMOVE THE GLOVE BOX ASSEMBLY.

REMOVE THE KNEE BOLSTER UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN.

PUT ON THE PARK BRAKE AND SHIFT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL.

REMOVE THE BEZEL AROUND THE RADIO, CHECK THE LOWER CORNERS FOR SCREWS, PULL OUT CAREFULLY ON THE BEZEL.

REMOVE THE RADIO.

My radio and CD stopped playing, they think it could be the amp/speaker but the lights are getting dim only on the radio. Any idea what it could be?

Check the harness connections to the radio/cd player. If that's ok, then maybe replace the whole box from a salvage yard, if available. A 'new' one might be quite expensive compared to a salvage yard's. Check Ebay.com or do a salvage yard search.

this means the cd mechanism is defective. Try to find a replacement.
If you try a salvage yard, you may find a bargain. I wouldn't get the radio from the dealer unless I had a lot of money to throw around for it.

It probably costs over $800 for the radio from there.
Salvage yards cost probably less than 1/4 that.

good luck

I think you may have to take the radio out of the car and open it to see what really going on. I cant think of any thing else that can be done to correct this problem but that.
