Question about 2001 GMC Yukon

1 Answer

One of my third row seats was opened while being stored in the garage. Now I cannot reinstall the seat in the Yukon unless it is in folded position. Is there a trick to folding the seat while it is not installed in the truck?

Try using the forwards up or back position to relieve the pressuer on the seat and one way or the other it will fold as well as use if applicable the forwards or back bar to reinstall the bolts

Seats - Third Row
The third row seat:
  • is three-passenger seat.
  • a 60/40 bench seat.
  • folds down for more cargo area.
  • has optional power fold down seats.
Third Row Power-Fold Seat
CAUTION: To prevent possible damage to the third row seat or the safety belts, make sure that the safety belts are not fastened when moving the seat to the load floor position.
CAUTION: Make sure that no objects such as books, purses or briefcases are on the floor in front of the third row seats or on the seat cushion before lowering the backrest(s).
The third row power-fold seat consists of the following electrical components:
  • right third row seat relay.
  • left third row seat relay.
  • right power-fold seat motor.
  • left power-fold seat motor.
  • right front third row seat switch (if equipped).
  • left front third row seat switch (if equipped).
  • right rear third row seat switch.
  • left rear third row seat switch.
For the third row power-fold seat to operate, a shared ground is supplied by the body security module (BSM) to both of the power-fold seat relays, enabling the seats to then be moved by pressing one of the third row power-fold seat switches. The third row power-fold seat operates only when the vehicle is in PARK and the liftgate glass, liftgate door or any entry door must be open.
The third row power-fold seat motors transfer movement to a drive gear assembly to raise and lower the seat backrest. The power-fold seat motors rotate a short drive cable which is connected to the drive gear assembly.
The relay's are located in Aux. relay box #2

2005 gmc yukon third row latch #1 stuck

There is a cable that connects the handle to the latch, the cables like to break/stretch, sometimes if you look close at the rear of the seat where it attaches to the floor you can see the latch and manually release it with a long screw driver or similar tool.
Cables are avaiable from GM dealer if thats the problem.

One of my third row seat does not fold down but the other one does. Could it be locked or jammed?

The seats shouldn't lock, its probably bound up. If you don't want to spend big bucks at the dealership, you might stop by a local automotive uphostery shop. Those guys work with seats every day.

I have TrailBlazer 2006 ls , I want to fold the third row seats , but am unable to fold it , is it possible, if so please guide me as soon as possible. thanks Regards.

The third row seats do fold flat. If you have the owners manual, it will have instructions on how to fold the seats. If you don't have a manual, drop by your nearest Chevy dealer and I'm sure they would be glad to show you how to fold the seat.

How do you remove the rear seat out of a 2001 Ford Excursion

If you are talking about the third row seat, the first step is to fold the seat down. Pull the lever behind the passenger side of the third row seat and fold the seat down. Then, from the cargo area, raise the bar located directly behind the third row seat and lift the seat forward. The seat should now be detached from the car and can be removed. When you reinstall the seat, be sure to secure the seat properly so passengers do not get injured in a sudden vehicle maneuver. This should help you to fix your problem. Contact me at FixYa if you have any further questions.

How do you take out third row seats

Follow the numbers on the latches. Step one fold the seat back forward. Step two fold the seat bottom forward. Step three pull the latch marked three towards you while pusing the seat away. This will allow the seat to disengage from the track and you can wheel it towards you and then lift it out of the truck.

Can I put a third row seat ni my 1999 durango

If there is room and you have the floor attachments for it then yes. It may be hard to get to the seat unless the rear seats fold down. You may also be able to get some floor attachments from a scrap yard and drill the holes yourself for placement.
