These sensors create an A/C voltage waveform. as the gear turns it causes A/C voltage to generate and you check to see if you have a 5 volt A/C wave form on a scope.

SOURCE: 2007 gmc sierra 2500 IAT sensor

Well, the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor is located on the air intake duct between the filter and the throttle body (Assuming you have the 6L motor). The wires are easily visible at the plug that connects the sensor to the wiring harness. That's the easiest place to access them.

If you are talking about just plugging into the speed sensor yes. A VTEC and NON-VTEC are one and the same.

SOURCE: speed sensor codes return after replacing the sensor. are their more sensors

I would go to a parts store and ask for the to take a test to it(it is free) schucks does it. Or get it a diagnostics done on it but it would be a good idea.
I was told by more then one mechanic sensors go out, Yes even the brand new ones because what made you replace it the first time may be doing it again to the one you just did.
good luck.

SOURCE: 1996 GMC Sierra Heater blower motor only works on

The blower motor resistor is located within a foot of the blower motor in the duct that the blower motor blows into. The resistor is actually cooled off by the blower motor blowing across it. It has a wire harness that connects it to motor & fan switch. It is held in place by 2-4 retaining screws. Disconnect wire harness, unscrew retaining screws then lift out. Reverse order to install.

Speedo not working now

The speed sensor is on the output shaft of the transmission. Either it was damaged or not hooked back up.

1990 GMC Sierra 5.0 TBI doesn't pass emissions high hydrocarbons. Tested 3 times 1st test 2.02 second test measured at 2.04 and the third test measured at 2.14. I have passed all other test but can't

other than changing the identified parts ,which i imagine are expensive ,check all air intake pipe work as a split or worn hose can cause irregular air intake thus giving a false exhaust reading

1995 GMC Sierra 2wd - Speedo and tack stops functioning, intermittently. As a result trans is also malfunctioning.

Have the speed sensor checked on the transmission. I believe that truck has a 4L60E transmission in it. If so, the sensor is on the left rear of the case.

My 1992 gmc 4.3 5 speed stick, speedometer does not work. What could the problem be? there is no speedo cable.

You probably have a bad vehicle speed sensor (VSS).It is located in the transmission ,at the rear left hand side.It will have a two wire connector.

Speedo stopped working last night. Stuck in first!

Your Trans should be the 4L60. If your speedometer quits working and the truck won't shift out of 1st gear, the "Speed Sensor" is probably bad or the wiring is bad where it plugs into the sensor. The sensor will be towards the back of the trans or on the tail shaft. An easy way to test if the wiring is bad at the plug is to pull on the wire 3" or 4" from the plug and watch closely to see if it stretches. If there is any stretch the wire inside the plastic sheath is broken.

Speedometer quit working

you might need a new speedo cable but if its a sensor you could need a new sensor and that might not be cheap.
