Question about 2002 Dodge Caravan
I have a Dodge Caravan 2002. When I turn the ignition key, I hear a clicking sound but the engine does not start. What could the problem be?
1) take the battery out and have it tested - if a bad battery replace it and see if van starts normally
2) check and clean battery/cable connections
3) if the battery is good and connections are good then most likely the solenoid contacts are bad - remove starter and remove solenoid cover (brass cover with three 6mm bolts), pull out plunger, you should see two brass plates, go to parts store and compare plates to a new starter
4) you can just replace the plates if you hunt online for them or you can opt for a new starter

SOURCE: 2002 Dodge Caravan wont start.
Eather your bendex is not kicking out from the starter into the flywheel, Or it is possible you have a few teeth missing on the flywheel. Most likely it is the starter bendex spring not engageing
