My 98 Saturn 1.9 litre has a flat spot in it's acceleration. Taking off you have to pay the gas to keep it from stalling. Other than that runs great

Check the TPS sensor with a volt meter to check for drop outs as you manually move the throttle. this is like a rheostat dimmer like you might have in a house to dim the lights. the ribbon wears out and can cause a flat spot.

SOURCE: 98 Saturn SL 1 sputters

Have a scanner hooked up to your car and do a data stream to see if your knock sensor is still working. On a heavy load, if the ECM detects detenation in the engine, it will automatically want to ****** the timing to make it run better on a load.

SOURCE: Car stalls when you let off the gas when warm or idling

sounds like your IAC (idle air control valve) located on the throttle body towards the front of the engine held in by 2 torx screws. the iac controls the idle if the car when your not on the gas. i will post the steps to clean the iac and the passages that the iac goes into.

1. disconnect the iac connector
2. remove the iac
3 clean the iac pintle valve and check for wear
4. clean the passages that the pintle valve sits in (usually carbon build-up in there, you may need to remove the air intake tube and air filter box to get to the passages in the throttlebody)
5. if the iac looks ok and the passages are cleaned re-install and put everything back
6. start car and see if it idles like normal when warmed up. you may need to give it a few tries for the iac to re-learn its proper position so give it a few warmup cycles
7. if it still stalls check for proper operation of the iac via ohming out the connectors (if you look it up on google you will find the specs at which the iac is supposed to operate)
8. if the iac is working properly, check for vacuum leaks on the intake manifold and vacuum lines.
9. if no vacuum leaks are present and the iac id working properly after cleaning have a shop check the ecm (engine control module) for a bad circuit board, i've seen that haoppen as well

hope this helps!

SOURCE: engine running rough

It sounds like maybe yu have a fuel filter that getting plugged up.
To check this, see if you can remove it from the engine, then very carefully blow thru it in the direction the fuel travels, if clean you should be able to blow thru it easily, if not then replace.
The P132 is (E132) .................. Knock Sensor Circuitry Failure .... The knock sensor is what prevent engine ping from low octane. ...
It could also be you just got some bad gas.
You also might try topping off the tank with gas from another place and bring the octane level up if that is the problem.
Hope this helps
Good luck

I have a 2008 Saturn Vue 3.6 engine.

Sounds like you have contaminants in your gas. Buy some STP Gas Treatment in the Red bottle and dump it in your tank. This should fix your problem.

I have a 93 Silverado and my problem is when I put it in gear and step on the gas ,it stalls. When it's idling ,it runs great.I have no idea why it does this. Can one of you experts give me an expert answer.

check throttle position sensor output voltage(i think it is the green wire on sensor plug. you can slid a straightened paper clip in beside wire. turn key on, engine Not running, as you move the accelerator voltage should increase. at no accel. it should be around .5 volts and it should increase as you press accelerator. all the way should be above 4 volts. move accelerator real slow, if there is a spot when voltage goes away, sensor is bad.

'98 SL2 Saturn Traction Control

Traction control helps limit tire slip in acceleration on slippery surfaces. In the past you had to feather the gas pedal to prevent the drive wheels from spinning wildly on slippery pavement. Many of today's vehicles employ electronic controls to limit power delivery for the driver, eliminating wheel slip and helping the driver accelerate under control. Don't turn it off.

'93 Aerostar-stalls while driving/scary-stalls in 'drive' at stops

Wow!!! Now that's a headfull of problems....
This could be a great many things...
Check these before you sell. I have a '93 Aerostar and can't live without it.
1. Check idle speed
2. Fuel filter may be clogged or water in the fuel system.
3. Choke improperly adjusted or sticking.
4. Distributor components damp or damaged.
5. Faulty emissions components.
6. Faulty or incorrectly gapped spark plugs/ Also check wires.
7. Vacuum leak at the carburetor/fuel injection unit or vacuum hoses.
8. On 1986 models, stalling during idle or deceleration may be caused by sludge in the throttlebody. (2.3 litre engine)
9. On 1986 & 1987 models with a 2.3 litre engine, hesitation or stalling during acceleration may be caused by carbon build-up on the intake valves.....I hope this helps!! Adios
