The low beam headlight on the driver side of my 2002 Porsche Boxster doesn't work. I replaced the bulb and it still doesn't work do they have separate fuses?

  • Ryan Jul 13, 2015

Hey all thank you for your help. Turns out it was the fuse, low beam and tail light work off their own fuse per side. Still don't know what the squealing noise is with the starter?

It's a bulb replacement. If it's anything similar to my Audi, there is a cover on the back of the headlight housing that you pop off. Then you can reach in, pull the wire connector off the bulb, and unclip a metal retainer over the bulb, and pull the bulb out. Installation of the new one is the reverse. Just be SURE not to touch the glass part of the bulb. Skin oils can cause a halogen bulb to burn very hot and burn out very quickly. If you do touch the glass, wipe it gently but thoroughly on a cotton cloth to clean it off before you install it.

SOURCE: Low beam, driver's side headlight

The low beam bulb needs to be replaced. Go to an autozone store as they will sell you the bulb, and even assist you in their parking lot with installing it.

SOURCE: my passenger side low beam headlight is out. the

Check the fuse. There are seperate fuses for right and left. You dont mention if the high beam works for that side? If it does, the fuse is good. The GREEN wire at the bulb is the ground for the low beam. If that wire has power, then the ground is bad. If the high beam works, the hi'lo beam switch is good, and there is a problem between that headlight and the Engine Compartment Junction Block

What would cause the low beam headlight not to work when all other lights work?

If you have standard halogen bulbs:

  1. Burned out light bulb; or
  2. Fried wires between the dashboard wiring harness and the headlight bulb connectors; or
  3. Fried headlight bulb connectors.
If you have HEI emitters:
  • Failed ballast.

Acura 2003 3.2TL driver side headlight low beam is out...is not the bulb ..how can this be? any idea?

most newer vehicles have individual fuses and or relays that controls each headlight separately, check the fuse panel under the hood, inside the lid there is usually a listing of what the fuses and relays do. look for drivers side low beam and take a look at the fuse, if it blown, try to replace the fuse, but there is usually a reason why it blew in the first place.
How did you test to see if the bulb was still good? ive seen dead bulbs that still look ok, try and plug the bulb from the non working side into the working side and double check.

Audi A4 2002 Low beams & Right front turn signal stopped working

For Audi A4 the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand steering wheel vehicle). On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram.
First fuse on first row from left upper corner is Fuse Nr.20 = F20 (15A) - RH headlamp low beam, headlamp adjustment.
First fuse on second row from left upper corner is Fuse Nr.21 = F21 (15A) - LH headlamp low beam, headlamp adjustment.

How do i change the low beam headlights on 99 porsche boxster

open the bonet remove back of light after clearly identifying the low beam bulbs, simply pull out and replace with the correct bulb.
WARNING: do not use incorrect bulb as you then risk a more extensive electrical problem. make sure you find out the correct bulb for your car and order from a specialist.

Passenger front headlamp bulb replacement required

Remove the carpet covering the inside near the headlight. Remove round rubber plug. (pull hard, the plug has NO WIRES coming out of it) Use the 5mm wrench that is in the toolkit. (toolkit is behind the spare tire). Turn the wrench 180 degrees and the whole headlight assembly will loosen. Pull out the whole assembly. Remove plastic end cap. The high beam, low beam and parking bulbs are all right inside that cover. Just did my 2002 for the first time. This is also covered in the manual if you have one. Thanks, [email protected]

Adjustment headlights '02 Hyundai Elantra

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.
