How to replace the alternator in a 2006 Saturn Vue V6 2wd?

I can't figure out how to get to the alternator. The frame is in the way so no way to get to it from the bottom. The splash gaurds are welded on so the side isn't an option either.

You have to work from the side opposite it, take off the tire, serpentine belt, move the alternator out of the way, and you're gonna need a bunch of drive extensions to reach the bolts....good luck.

I am not super familiar with your car, but I have had to disassemble half of the car to get to the alternator on similar cars. I even had to take the front grill out to do some work under the hood of a Chevy Equinox. I found some great videos on YouTube. I really wish I could be of greater help Youhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEsCrMugfEwTube.com

My Saturn Vue 2.2 (2006) car could not start one day and i got it jumpstarted. the engine then started going off when I am using it with the AC on.

Sounds like the alternator is not putting out the correct charge...this will cause the engine to stall, and may not be keeping the battery fully charged. You can have the alternator tested at many auto parts stores for free, including Auto Zone...replacing the battery will not solve your problem. Hope this helps.
