If the squeaking is inside the car, then the noise will be from a pedal pivot point or sliding surface-to-surface contact. Try thin lubricant on metal, and spray furniture polish on mating plastic parts. If from the engine bay, probably release bearing, though could again be a pivot point external to the gearbox/clutch housing.

My 2002 1.8 mondeo holds back on power wen driven at town speed and engine cuts of wen driving but dip the clutch and engine will run again. any ideas

Have you checked the fuel filter? It may be time for a change. In a Manual transmission when it dies any time as long as your still rolling at a decent rate of speed you should be able to push the clutch in to start the engine back on.

I have a nissan micra on a p 1.0 cc

Try adjusting the cable a bit and see if it makes a difference. Keep track of how many turns you make on the adjuster so if you need to,you can go back to where it was before you began. Could be a stretched cable or the disc may have worn a bit.If it's not slipping you may still have a few miles left in it. I'm betting that the disc is worn. The gears that are difficult to engage may have worn synchros. A clutch problem will aggravate that.

79 firebird belt replaced that wraps around the compressor/clutch for a/c. A/c blows cold, first belt was too big, brand new second belt perfect size, and checked, but when driving, belt starts squeeling....

Your new belt wil have stretched a bit, and you should have enough adjustment to stop the squeek. I'm not 100% sure if there are tensioners on the belt, if so they may reqire greasing or to check out, spray the tensioners with releasing oil' leave for an hour and see if they have moved. They are plastic bushes that your belt would have gone round.

To quieten a belt that squeeks, get some talcum powder, and when the engine is running spray it over the groove in the belt, it may be that's all it needs beccause there is a small bit of contamination on the belt, this wil soak uo any gunk and make your car quiet again. Let me know, regards, dave

How do you fix clutch judder?

Clutch judder is mostly caused by broken springs in the friction plate, the springs usually snap due to too much enthusiasm at traffic light races.
Some cars with cable operated clutches suffer from a form of clutch judder if the cable is dry and not running freely in the sheathing.
A good cure for this is to release the cable at the gearbox end and holding the end of the cable in the air pour a few drops of oil down the inner cable.
