Ford Focus 2008 1.6L Petrol - Misfiring P300 / P301 code and black soot on spark plugs

I'm assuming you mean codes P0300 and P0301. Black soot on the plugs is usually because the fuel system is running 'rich'. This is when the fuel/air mixture going into the engine has too much fuel in it. Changing the spark plugs was a good step to take but it won't fix the problem.
When was the vehicle last given a full service? Something as simple as an old, dirty air filter can cause problems.
If you are not familiar with working on engines take the vehicle to a good mechanic and get them to look at it for you.

Car runs fine but at times it will die and have to boost to start

Sounds like alternator/generator could be bad and also battery could be bad.

My sidekick will just die or barely run it died

last year, OBD1 car (dumbb ECU)
no scan tools for it
if you run on the road with that hack , and wreck
expect a nice fire. fuel fire.
if you used a voltmeter and say 12vdc there, all hotwiring stuff
need not be done. (
it stalled (misfire)
and then would not what? start but cranks ok?
4wd?
3sp ,4sp auto or 5speed stick
16v engine or 8v, both are G16s but EFI radially different.
16v is MPI with 4 injectors, 8v is 1 injector TBI
try a new
cap,.rotor spark wires and spark plugs yet?
cant burn fuel with bad spark
i guess the cam bent did not slip as it run ok later, but is 60,000 mile belt. and will slip ignored.

next time it stalls
check headlamps they work, and all electric
then see if CEL glows key on, i must or ECU lost power
it has 3 fuse that can rust, IG coil, FI, and DOME.
the CEL must glow, is first checks.

I took my vibe to the car wash about 40 feet out of the parking lot in started running on 3 cyl. and a light smoke coming from the exhaust i pulled off the road gave it a few good revs and she started...

The car wash pressure may have disconnected an electrical connector part way or completely. Check for this all around the engine and transmission. Touch and wiggle all of them! Dont forget to check under the car all the back to and around the gas tank. Also check for a vacuum line that is popped off or even broken.
Aside from that, water has got into something. Check all power distribution boxes for moisture.
If you dont know how old the plug wires are, or they are the originals, you should replace them.
With plug wires, its the age, not the miles.

I have a 1983 ford f250 and it runs fine one time then the next time it will just stall out just got tune up and timed thought it was the fuel filter but we just put a new inline one in and it ran longer...

The fuel pick up in the rear tank is most likely sucking up scale and /or dirt and plugging. If you take the rear tank off and clean it out your problem will go away. Make sure that when you take it off turn the tank upside down and shake it out well. also use a hose and spray around inside to get everything out of the tank. Hope this helps.
