Have your exhaust checked for back pressure from bad cats to a muffler clogging up.

No year, stated, and no country stated.
google earth cant find hill 13. so......
is transmission slipping? is it and automatic trans.? not stick shift.

slip means , engine RPM rises fast, but car speed does not.
some think that is power loss and is not. it's just slipping.
slip is transmission problems.
ok its not slip.:
which engine?
1.0 L G10 (LP2) I3
1.0 L G10T (LS3) turbo I3
1.3 L G13A/BA (L72) 8V I4
1.3 L G13B/G13K 16V DOHC I4
1.5 L G15A 16V I4
1.6 L G16 16V I
970 cc F10A I4
1298 cc G13BA I4
1298 cc G13BB 16V EFi I4
1527 cc TUD5 diesel I4
1.3 L M13A I4 (petrol)
1.5 L M15A I4 (petrol)
1.3 L I4 (diesel)
so saying my engine acts odd , is useless with out knowing what engine is there.....see why?

ill then answer for generic engines. GAS or Petrol.

  1. never tuned up the engine in a decade, tops list.!
  2. bad fuel,
  3. weak spark or #1 caused.
  4. cam belt slipped do to no service, (or chain on cam)
  5. Low fuel pressure
  6. or too much fuel pressure ,floods or rich misfires.
  7. misfire. causes low power ., lots of causes. over 50, in fact.
  8. The CLuster Check engine light on? running?
  9. Scan the PCM yet to see if it has DTCs; errors to report?
there are steps or tests in each case.
why not get the car serviced. they will do those tests.

  • Anonymous Jun 30, 2015

here ill do useless wild guessing too.
    bad fuel.
never tuned up in last decade.
    bad map or maf, sensors.
    misfiring for 50 reasons.
sure cat melted. and most do that as a VICTIM. not primary cause , primary is misfire gross and rich AFR.
even transmission slip, not even an engine issue.

  • Anonymous Jul 03, 2015

or find a mech, ask him to look ,he opens hood and see what engine is there, OMG its diesel......
then drives it, slips or not. misfires?
CEL glows.? at misfire, gee scan it. now!
he check engine in many ways.
    on old cars compression, ok.?
    spark perfect.(gas engine)
spark timing off, oops cam drive slipped.
got P030x misfire, DTC errors? or?
    fuel pressure low.
    injector leak down test pass.
    injector balance test pass.

let him do the work. or lean how.
    on all cars, same answer
    let them or DIY,.
    pick one?
or just pay for diagnosis, there a 3rd choice.

not posting year, car, or country is FAIL moment. big time!
but you are just like the other million posting same way.
learn now that cars vary by country.
    and win.

Eceleration in neutro

car moves faster when A/T (is it A/T) is shifted to Neutral?
yes, (then you are going down hill?)
if gear shift linkage is maladjusted that would cause neutral to fail. (A/T)
A/T = automatic transmissin.
or are you saying the engine races (illegal idle speeds ) in neutral.
to get help, be clear on driving modes.
or ask your mechanic.

Hi ! I have a Holden Barina (1993 MH model) which is a Suzuki Swift rebadged. It loves to rattle when I accelerate, go up a hill and when under load. It doesn't rattle when its cold and when going...

Try some engine cleaner and that will help improve rough idle and or performance. To me it sounds like a possible motor mount issue. Sounds like the front engine mount. Because you explained up a hill rattle. / Down Hill\ no rattle. Engine lifts when going up hill and shifts downward while going down hill. hence no vibration because of gravity pull and the weight of the engine.
