My volvo v40 makes clicking noise in the rear wheel area when I press on the gas pedal and after I release the gas pedal while the car is moving . Is the caliper stuck or the pad is loose?

If it is just in one side . Lift it and check it . If nothing . On wheel . It may be your universal join. That's what it sound to me. Calipers make your wheels to burn.

Volvo v40 will not rev and hesitates when pulling away

A lot of the newer Volvo and Ford cars have Electronic Accelerator / throttle pedals fitted which play up when worn.

Many complete Accelerator pedals are compatible with the Ford Focus cars in the UK.

My volvo v40 is making a grinding/scraping noise especially when turning. what is the most likely cause of this fault?

It sounds like you have a stone lodged in one of your wheels. They can lodge themselves between the brakes and backing plate
.Possible solution ,try reversing and slam on the brakes .This has worked for me several times. Good luck

I have a 2005 Volvo s60 that has problems going into park and now coming out of park. I can't predict when it will happen and can't reproduce the problem at will. I'm reading that it may be a switch...

When the shifter sticks, pump the brake pedal several times and listen for a click under the shifter. If you can hear the release clicking, check to see if the release button on the front of the shifter is out all the way. If not, tap the top of the shifter to make it pop out. Then spray some lubricant (silicone spray) into the release and move it in and out until it works smoothly. If there is no clicking noise, there may be an electrical problem.

2001 Volvo S60 2.4T starting problem

This car won't start unless the gear is in the P position. Some times the sensor that tells the computer that the gear is in the P position doesn't make a good contact and the car won't start. Move the gear backwards and forwards until it makes a good contact and the car will start again.

Vibration/Rattling on right side during high speeds

I had a similar problem. The dealer change automatic transmission and differential, but the noise continu. After research on internet i think the problem is the front galiper who create a vibration on the disc wheel and the vibration frequence follow the front axle until interior car. Just press slowly the brake pedal and if the noise stop , that's it the cause i think. I dont change my galiper, but i have a new transmission . :)))
