Can't get the battery connected after putting on

We replaced the battery on our 2004 Chevy Colorado and now we can't get the battery connected after putting on battery cover. Is there something special that needs to be done?

Try connecting the battery before you put on the cover.

Change the 02 sensors and check for vacuum leak hoses evap , then disconnect battery and test again .

I have a 2004 chevy colorado and my battery died so I replaced it but the car still wont start is there a restart on truck for fuel pump?


If its spinning over good but wont fire, the computer needs to be reset . It should start then you drive it around to let it reset itself. check the pcm fuse

something puts bcm into safe mode. take neg. battery cable off and touch it to pos. post for 30 sec. leave unconnected for 6 hrs then reconnect. should work after that. just did mine. dealer wanted 400$ to change door switch

look for bolts if its metal but a lot of cars have a plastic box type cover which has a push in clip down the bottom of the casing

Sulfur smell coming from my 2004 chevy colorado wont start unlss i jump it


You have a bad battery and it needs to be replaced. The rotten egg or sulfer smell is coming from the acid in the battery. I would not continue to jump the vehicle as the battery could explode.
