Not sure about the relays, but thought you might like to know on the Northstar engines the fan thermostat is set to kick in at 240 degrees. Never could figure out why so high.

SOURCE: Where are the cooling fan relays for a 1998

Are you sure that you don't mean the cooling fan control module? It should be located up front next to the cooling fan. It is square shaped and has a long square shaped plug going into it. 00114_cooling_fan_control.jpgReads the temperature of the coolant and passes the information to the engine control computer (ECC). The ECC receives analog information and signals the cooling fan switch to cycle the cooling fan on or off, as required.

I hav a Cadillac deville running hot what too do

how long has it been since the thermostat has been changed.is the cooling fans working at the radiator if not you could have a bad fan motor or a cooling fan relay.it could even be a bad sensor that the computer monitors to turn on and off the cooling fan.this is a different sensor than the one that works the coolant gage or light on the dash.

Locate fan relay

There are three cooling fan relays in the fuse block under the hood.

b891122.gif

The fan relays above are numbered 37,39 and 40

Relay 37 is RH fan
Relays 39 and 40 are LH fan.

You can check if your fans are working by switching on the air con.
Are you having overheating problems?

Regards.

How do u change fan relays on a 92 seville 4.9l.

the fan relays are in with the other relays in the relay box, check the coolant sensor,or just replace it.If you turn on the ac,will the fans come on?If so,the relays are fine.be sure the coolant level is fine, and there is no air in the cooling system. This, along with the coolant sensor are the main causes for this problem. Is the cooling fan fuse good? I hope this will help you.

Something is running after the car is off.

The fan is still going. They will do this for a while to cool off the radiator after car is shut off. If it last for a very long time, the relay will have to be replaced.
