Question about 1989 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer

1 Answer

1989 s10 Blazer, Very little air coming out of dash vents. Blower motor works good all three speeds, Acts like dash vents blocked or door not opening Took inside cover over the heater core off and blows great cold air. soon as you put the cover back on air coming out of dash vents like switch is on low. is there a vucuum actuator somewhere under dash to open up dash vents. Also cant see any change when lever is moved to multilevel.

You need to pop your hood and check your vaccum lines should be by the passenger side should be little tubes and stuff with a TT piece maybe running by your engine or possibly into your firewall. The distribution of the heat and air conditioning is controlled by vacuum. under hard acceleration, the lack of vacuum to the blend door causes the distribution of air to become mixed up. A spring closes the door door when there is no vacuum. Engine vacuum is used by the heater control to tell the blend door what position it should be in. ----------------- also check the control head . ------ thanks.please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.

Why is air coming from all three areas (vents/floor/defrost) regardless of setting?

There is actually two blend door actuator that control the opening and closing of your vents. Ine is located under the drivers side dash board. The is on the passengers side. Both are electric and I didnt have the money to replace them so i removed them and turned it with a pliers to allow heat to come out of bothe sides of the vent. Then come summer flip the little bar back the other way to A/C
Hope this helps
God blessss

How do you find a fuse box for a 2007 mercury milan

under dash to the left of the brake pedal, there is another fuse block in the engine compartment, but ur problem is most likely the blower speed control (located by the blower motor), possibly blower motor or the blend door acuator which blends the warm and cold air it is usualy deep in the dash in the air box. check prices on parts and shoot acordingly some parts are pricy( no need to spend $200
bucks when its a fuse) best of luck!

2000 jeep grand cherokee, only blow out a little air even when the blower on hi,,you have to put your hand next to the vent to feel the air

you may have had something fall down into the defrost vent and it has worked its way down and is blocking the air flow thats trying to come out the vents, near the blower motor.also does it sound like the blower motor is spinning on high speed or at a lower speed, you could have a slow turning blower motor.

1989 S10 Blazer air conditioning problem

the problem lies in the temp control selector, the knobs on your dash, that can go bad causing the dampers not to close, i would stop by a junkyard and pick one up, this is more than likely the problem.
