The balancer and key needs to be replaced. It probably came loose and sheared the key. Check for damage to the crank key way too.

My 1999q45t start up but alternator wont turn fan clutch wont turn crank pulley turn battery light on brake on

If I have it right, the alternator will not turn. This might likely be a frozen bearing, if in fact this part is causing the problem.
If the fan clutch is not turning, it may also be a frozen bearing, if this part is the problem.
If the crank pulley is turning, then the motor runs, and the problem is one of the other units that are driven by the serpentine belt that brings the power from the crankshaft.
You also may have a frozen idler pulley, or a frozen water pump, or a frozen power steering pump.
God bless your effort.

2005 santa fe serpentine broke then bad vibrating and it died replaced serpentine and tensionor, now motor locked. Is the motor shot or could something else be wrong?

Put a socket and wrench on the crankshaft pulley bolt, and see if you can turn the crankshaft-clockwise. If the crank won't turn, something internal is bad. If you can turn the crankshaft normally, check that another pulley has seized.
Or try it this way: take the serpentine belt back off and see if the starter can spin the crankshaft. If it does, look for a seized pulley. If a good battery cannot make the starter turn the crankshaft, likely the motor is shot.

Cutlass ciera wont start

Does the starter spin the motor at normal cranking speed? If there seems too much friction, try turning the engine over by hand to check if the engine turns freely. Put a socket and wrench on the center crankshaft pulley bolt and turn clockwise. If you cannot turn the crankshaft with a wrench easily, then the starter can't either. Turn the crank all the way around to check for something preventing cranking.
Is the battery still enough power to crank at normal speed? If it's already too low, recharge it, and try again.

Cannot get the nut in front of the pulley at the bottom of the engine (in front of the harmonic balancer) to break loose????

easy to do but extremely dangerous ,if you are changing the timing belt then slacken adjuster on the belt then remove the rocker cover and slacken the cam bearing caps so the camshaft is completely loose and not touching any valves ,then put a socket on the bottom pulley with a knuckle bar jammed in the suspension and turn key,the reason for removing the cam is because the bottom pulley doesnt have a keyway anymore and if you try to undo it like this without locking the crank with a special tool and using a big bar then as the starter motor undoes the nut it releases the pressure on the pulley and the cam bely pulley turns and you smash valves into the pistons

How do you remove crank pulley from an automatic 98 Subaru Legacy

undo the nut by locking the bar with the socket on into the chassis ,then turn the starter motor over .,if pulley will not slid back with two big screwdrivers then use an pulley extractor

Serpentine belt broke and was replaced. Now car will not start.

what do you mean "wont start" do you mean it turns over and wont start, or wont turn over?? belts dont just break, if the car wont turnover, take the belt off and manually spin every pulley with your hand, all should spin freely (except the large bottom crank pulley) you may find that one of them is siezed.

I ran my car thru water about 2 weeks ago and it died on me then but i chack and theres no water in the motor but it wont start now the starter jus clicks and the inside lights just go dim

Hello;
You need to check the connections at the battery. They could be corroded causing your battery not to produce enough juice to turn the engine over. Have the battery checked as well

My 03 impala wont start up ..wen i turn the key jus clickin noise

if the clicking is repeated with out you releasing the key then the battry is in need of charging or replacing, if its a one click each time then the starter motor is faulty.

It will not even turn over, has power to starter, but no power to ignition fuse next to battery, thought maybe automatic shutdown fuse, but dont know

Take a 1/2 drive socket set and put it on the lowest pulley or crank pulley and try turning the engine over by hand to make sure you have not sized the engine.
