Any reputable service center should have the diagnostic equipment to service this issue. You do not need the dealership.

What does code p2459 mean?

Causes
- Exhaust leak
- Improperly installed or loose Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT)
- Low engine compression
- Corroed fuel injector
- Water in the fuel system
_ fuel filter or water seperator fouled.
When is the code detected?
The P2459 will set if the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects that the average time between completed regenerations is less than a calibrated threshold.
Symptoms- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
P2459 Description The particulates in the exhaust gases are collected by the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). When the filter becomes saturated with particulates, they are incinerated by a regeneration process. The regeneration process increases the exhaust gas temperature, warning the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) first, the warning the DPF. The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the system with inputs from two Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) sensors 1 and 2 and the exhaust differential pressure sensor.

My check fuel cap light came on the other day after having been at the gas station. I later tightened the cap & the light remained on. Now several days later the check engine light has come on too,...

Ok,you could have a bad fuel cap or o-ring on the cap. could be you just didn't quite get the cap on good enough the last time you got gas so in turn the light comes on. unfortunately these things are so sensitive that the light doesn't go out even though you have tried taking it off and putting it back on. My advise is, check out your local auto parts stores. such as Autozone, or Advance. Most auto parts stores anymore will hook up a small scanner to your car and can tell you what the problem may be. not as good as a dealers repair shop could tell you,but should be able to let you know if it is nothing serious or could be. if it is something serious then you would of course have to see mechanical help. and if its nothing serious, like the only thing showing up is gas cap not on good, they can clear out the code and your light will go off and your good to go.if it turns out that's all it was and the code is cleared, and it keeps coming on, you could have a more serious problem and should have a qualified mechanic check it out. if you don't have an Autozone or Advance near you, just check your local auto parts stores and see if they offer the service of checking your vehicle when lights like this come on. and it should be a FREE service. Autozone and Advance is and most should be. i know this is long, but i hope it helps.

My srs light went on, what do i do?

It is recommended that any time the SRS system light comes on that you take it to your local repair shop for inspection or repairs. The reason for this is because if it were to accidentally deploy while doing a home diagnostics it could cause serious injuries. Also there is a procedure and warnings that have to be followed when working anywhere near the SRS system.Thats why I recommend that you take it to a service station for inspection and repairs.

Minimum oil warning light came on whilst driving on mototorway. stopped and added oil to recommended level, but warning light continues to appear on dash.

Uk reg vehicle ,sorry but encrypted software used on this vehicle ,i changed oil on one and the immobilisor came on ,evidently dealer only job same as brake pads ,Unlike our american cousins our europeon vehicles have the MOT done with a probe in the exhaust, but american cars have to be able to have the OBDII read by the emmision station or it doesnt pass .So its off to dealer with flat cloth cap in hand to have the light put out ,hope you have deep pockets

I have a 2007 chev. Equinox LS. The panel on dashboard has told me that my Stabilitrak System needs servicing. Is this a serious problem? Also I have to drive 20 miles to my Chev. dealer will this harm...

The service stabilitrak comes on if you pass gas near one of these vehicles. It can be from anything like a weak battery or a sticking EGR valve (my car's current issue) to a wheel sensor module/hub assembly (past problem with mine) or a combination of things. The first step is to get the error codes checked by someone with a reader (dealer or good mechanic). From there, you will know enough to say how much it will cost to fix it. Chevy needs to be sued for this problem because they won't do anything to change it otherwise. It's basically a useless warning light because the AWD is always on, and unless you get an ABS warning, or plan on driving like a maniac on a muddy road, the Stabilitrack is a waste of money. If it ever DOES come on, it will probably be after you hit something, anyway.

What does it mean when the check engine light comes on?

This is more related to your Emission System.

Sensor which check the exhaust gas send signal to ECU to confirm within the spec. limits of exhaust gas. If there is any abnormality, you will be getting warning on your dashboard.

Emissions warning light stays on have had it to dealer and still on what now wagon r+

If you paid the Dealer to find out what was wrong (why the light was on), he should have told you. If you paid the Dealer to fix the problem, you should not have the light on now. Either way, if he has your money, you should either know what needs fixing or what he fixed. Go back to the Dealer and get what you paid for.
If of course, you took your car in for a service and you haven't been charged anything extra, then chances are nothing has been done.
Most Dealerships are normally phoning customers back saying this needs doing or that needs doing, after you have taken the car in unaware that anything needed doing (mostly it doesn't either).
Even without mentioning a "Check Engine" or emissions warning light being on, this should have been picked by any self-respecting mechanic, and an assurance may have even been sought from you that were aware that they hadn't done anything to rectify it before you took the car.
Having said all that, the most common problems with emissions and/or check engine warning lamps being on (in general - not just Suzuki) would be from oxygen sensors and cat converter temp probe failures. These sensors sit quietly in the exhaust system baking away at 1000 degrees telling the ECM it's running too rich or lean (O2 sensor) or that the cat convertor is too hot (usually after its been running too lean!).
Go back to the Dealer and find out what has failed. Don't tell him to fix it (unless you've already paid) as some of these sensors can be many hundreds of dollars.

if it has an orange light with it this could be the engine warning light which means you need to get it looked at by your dealer as it could be a serious engine problem or it could just be a service indicator
