If the blower motor only works sometimes it is not related to refrigerant charge. The blower motor may not be working or your blower motor resistor block may be bad. No cold air coming out may be due to a compressor not working or a low refrigerant change in which case you have a leak that need to be addressed.

Hi, when it comes to vehicle air conditioning I advise taking it to a
professional with the appropriate experience/qualification...I have heard instances of individuals being blinded by freon.
If your blower only works sometimes might be that the compressor has issues.

Air conditioning stopped working step for trouble

There are several ideas on test gauges for A/C pressure. You need to find out if you have any Freon pressure in your system. Low pressure will activate a cut-off switch to protect the compressor from seizing.

If you look at the passengers side of the Firewall, under the wiring bundle attached to the Firewall, the low pressure fitting is on the black oblong tank. The pressure cut-off switch is on a A/C line leaving this tank.

You can by-pass the cut-off switch with a wire loop to see if the compressor engages and what the running pressure is for the system. You can work with low pressure better than some other problems.

There are Freon cans with sealant and conditioner which can fix minor problems. Once you get enough pressure to deactivate the cut-off switch the Freon should be pulled into the system.

Have windows open, A/C on Max, and then use the gauge to keep from overfilling the system.

Kia Spectra AC

no low freon doesn't have anything to do with the blower, but the click noise you hear is the clutch trying to enguage but not spin, if your blower is working then you don't need to replace the blower, but if blower works but no cold air and freon is at ok levels and the clutch isn't spinning which is in the middle of the ac blower pully then the clutch needs to be replaced, if you add too much freon to the system you can get it to start then stop spinning then spin again on and off untill is at ok levels. i know this because this happens to me every summer in the desert when I recharge my freon.

98 Grand Cherokee air conditioner won't blow cold air after recharge

It sounds like your blend door isn’t operating correctly . The blend door simply is a flap that is designed to close off heater core when it’s calling for A/C , and opposite for heat . Check to see if it’s operating

Wont take freon

Are ou turning the A/C on? and does the switch to the A/C work?Assuming the system is low and the switch does work and you are having trouble putting in the freon and the shrader valve is in working condition use the relay to command the system on.Go to the engine junction fuse box there find the a/c relay its is listed on the cover of the fuse relay assembly take the cover off the a/c relay there you will expose the relay mechanism insert it back in its socket and as you are recharging collapse the switch to force the a/c compressor on and it will recharge

The air conditioning compressor cycles continuously, sometimes cutting off the engine, and there is no longer cold air coming out.

Try to add freon,it is most likely low,and needs the recharge, also,if it leaked freon,it leaked oil,so put some oil in it also,If this was helpful, please rate, thank you.

My ac wont work

Must be Air-Condition System Lines/ Hoses leaking R12 Freon (gas).

MAYBE THE PULLY HUB BEARINGS FAILED OR
DUE TO VERY LOW R12 FREON (GAS ) will not work.
Because there is a switch in the receiver/dryer prevent AC from working when low R12 Freon present, to protect the system & compressor damages.

You must fix the leaks, before recharging it.

They must **** the old (residue) gases from the system & lines / hoses...... & stay in the vacuum pump 30 minutes to proof no more leaks.

Recharge some oil for the old type R12 Freon gas.

Before recharge it to 62-67 psi R12 Freon

See the web site like www.youtube.com/video site to see How they service & repair air-condition system?
Put the question to their search window.

This is the question u should.

AC is not working

Sounds like the A/C system just needs to be recharged. When was the last time you had this done? Just take it in to your mechanic and he can do it for you and if that's not it for some reason, then he will be able to find the problem but most likely you need more freon added.

Air condition compressor won;t kick in

Most likely a loss of refrigerant ( freon ) in the system. The A/C compressor uses a low pressure switch as a SAFETY to insure it wont turn on without freon in the system. Hope this helps.
