SOURCE: Program keyless remote for 94 Grand Marquis

On this model you will have to open glove box and press the tabs on each side so that you can open it all the way open. You will see a 2 wire grey connector behind it.
Turn ignition switch to run postion then take a paper clip or something like that and momentarily short the 2 wires together.
The door locks should then cycle from lock to unlock.Remove the paper clip then press one of the buttons on each remote. When you press the button on the remote door locks should cycle again to confirm that it programed. Then when finished turn off the ignition switch and door locks should unlock to confirm you have exited programming mode.

How do I get the factory code for keyless door entry on a 1996 mercury grand marquis and reset the code as well?

it is a 5 digit code found in one of 3 places
way up in the left side of the dash, way up in the right kick panel, or inside the driver door on the window controller
Note: the code may be part of a larger number but the 5 digits will be larger than the rest , or it may be just a random number on the tag, just look for 5 numbers that either stick out or that are all by them selves . ... now and then I have found them on a tag (sticker) inside the trunk up under the rear dash below the rear window.....

2. Within 20 seconds, press any button on first keyless remote. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming.

3. Within 20 seconds press any button on second keyless remote. Door locks will cylcle to confirm programming.

4. Turn ignition to OFF.

This sounds most like a worn lock actuator which wouldn't be uncommon. If you need a diagram on how to replace, let me know.

My door lock remote will not function and new

have you tried to press/hold lock button for 30 secs.
the code changes everytime you use the remote so that only your remote unlocks your car,not everybody elses.the key has a code inbuilt into it so the car will only start with your key...(this is dealer programmable)

2001 Mercury grand marquis' keyless entry pad is flashing and beeping even when car turned off. Everything else is working normally.2nd time this has happened. 1st time disconnected battery and it stopped....

Same problem on my 2000. Apparently moisture gets into the pad and shorts it out. The constant lock/unlock and lights flashing (also headlights comin on if you have them on automatic) will run the battery down in no time. I solved it temporarily by unplugging the keypad plug behind the door trim. That will still give you the door lock/unlock funtions from your remote. Only fix is to replace the pad.

I need to program the key fob

. Enter 5-digit permanent entry code into the keyless entry driver door keypad. 2. Within 5 seconds of pressing last button of code, press the 1/2 button. All doors will lock then
unlock confirming you are in programming mode.

3. Press any button on first Keyless Remote within 5 seconds of pressing the 1/2 button. Locks will
cycle to indicate succesful programming.

4. If you are programming more than one Keyless Remote (Including any exsiting remotes) Press
any button on second keyless remote within 5 seconds of previous remote. Locks will cycle again
to indicate succesfull programming. (If the keypad light goes out before all remotes are
programmed the entire process must be repeated).

5. Press the 7/8 and the 9/0 buttons simultaneously on the keypad to exit program mode.

Car will not unlock.

To get inside the car .... Use the key in the lock cylinder, unlock the drivers door to get inside. You shouldn't have to reprogram the fob unless it or the keyless module was changed. There may be a blown fuse that supplies the keyless control module (check the owners manual for location). or wires that lead into the Drivers door may be damaged ... The keyless module is located inside the drivers door at the bottom behind the door panel ... do the unlock/lock and trunk release switches on the inside of the drivers door operate the locks and or trunk release? If so it is not the fuse ... and not the wires to it ... And it could be your BCM body control module, located in the dash board to right of your gas petal. Because the number entry keypad (code for that is on the inside of the right passenger trunk bracket arm) also doesn't work I assume it's not the key fobs themselves. Your 98 manual is correct for your car.

Drivers door lock & key pad not working.

Your lock motivator on driver side front is bad, replace, it should be cheap and easy to do. Goto dealer for part. It's the part that is connected to a rod that kicks back and forth to lock and unlock door.
