I removed the glove box and looked at the vacuum control related to the vents. It was disconnected from the white tube which appears to control which vents will be used. When I move the vent selector knob manually, it appears to have no impact on either the vacuum unit or the vent director tube. If I move the vent director tube manually, I can get air to come from different vents -- but as soon as I release it, it snaps back to the default of all vents except for the minimal air coming from console. Any help would be most appreciated!
Theres a one way chec valve in the vacuum tubing thsts probly worn. A partstore can help u find it
Testimonial: "Arnie, thanks for the quick reply! I was at a NAPA store yesterday, and actually asked about a check valve. They said they didn't know of one on this vehicle. What strikes me odd is that if I remove the tube from the back of the vacuum unit, there is no suction at all. Do you happen to know how the vent control switch works? Is it vacuum-based, or electrical based?"
not on that model...send issue to [email protected] or check in library sec 629
