1.- Carefully unplug the wires connected to the bulb located inside the headlamp, be sure to glently press the far side of the plug (where the wires come out) there's a rectangular shaped lock and pull the plug.
2.- Carefully turn the donut ring that holds the bulb in its position by turning it about 1/4 turn counter clockwise and pull it out.
3.- Pull the bulb out gently (never touch the glass) just the plastic base.
4.- Place the new bulb inside and be sure it is in the same position as the old one.
5.- repeat step 2 and 1 backwards.
There should be no problem

Rotate the plastic ring 1/4 turn. Pull connector off by pressing the release tab & pulling. Pull bulb out straight.

95 Mercury villager lisence plate light wont work

First step is to remove the bulb, check to see if you are getting 12V DC with a multimeter while the headlights are turned on. If you are, then the bulb is the problem. If you aren't getting voltage, then you need to check the fuses, if all the fuses are good then you need to trace the wires and look for broken points.

The black, round "collar that holds the headlight

The part you are referring to is the headlight socket. The link below will take you the part in question. This is what to look for. Most auto parts stores should carry this part.

I have a mercury villager and one headlight does not come on even with a new bulb.

each headlight assembly has its own heavy ground wire connecting to the chassis ground. when one side is dim or does not work, even with known good bulbs, generally it means that ground connection has a problem. find it, take it apart, clean it, and reassemble it. if that does not work make absolutely sure you have the correct bulb in the correct socket, if so and problem persists take it to a dealer.

How do u change driver's side headlight bulb on 95 olds Aurora?

Remove the retainers from the back, and remove the headlight as a whole from the front, and replace the bulb inside,do not touch the new bulb on the glass part. Should be 2 retainers holding the housing in place, one to each side. Good luck.

Headlights don't work

Try replacing the bulbs in the sealed beam. Bulb #9007, do both. Lift lid, disconnect electrical wires, unlock o ring, pull out bulb. Replace bulb and reverse the order

Mercury Villager headlight assembly diagaram for removal

This is easy. Lift the lid open. Look at the back of the sealed beam and you will see a clip and an o ring. Pull the clip up and pull wires back toward the driver's seat. Unscrew the o ring and firmly pull the bulb out toward the driver again. Note the 3 tabs on the bulb seat and realign the new bulb with those tab ( 2 bottom, 1 top). Replace with #9007 bulbs..do them both.
