Trailblazer sputtering problem when giving gas to go up hill

Sounds like your fuel pump is worn out, replace the fuel pump and the fuel filter.

How long has it been since you replaced the fuel filter ?

Usually a sputter will occur under load conditions like going up hill from a lack of fuel. Start by changing the fuel filter.

Could be a mass air flow sensor or a MAP sensor problem , but without testing that is just a guess . Take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop that has the proper diagnostic tools an knows how to use them . Using a scan tool to view engine sensor data parameters .Fuel trim's ,short an long term , are the O2 sensor's switching normally, coolant temp. A lot more involved then a fuel filter . engine management system.

i have an 86 dodge ram 50 that sputters when i step on gas going up hill after it warms up ive changed the gasket twice with no luck solving problem it runs fine in neutral but in gear under a load it sputters

Fuel filters normally cause this kind of problem. Check the fuel filters. If it sputters when you accelerate hard this is the most common sign. If the filters are fine run a fuel system cleaner in the gas and then change your spark plugs.

they might have not put the proper gap on the plugs..and might have over filled the engine with too much oil..

Check the fuel filter to see if it is plugged.
Remove the fuel filter, and blow air through it in the normal direction of fuel flow. You should be able to blow through it very easily. If it feels restricted, try blowing through it the opposite way, and if there is a lot of dirt coming out, you have found a common cause of this problem. Hope this helps.

make sure you have gas, could be gas is low.

is it 4 cyl 6 cyl if it is the 2.4 quad four i would replace the plug tubes from the coils to the plugs if it is the 6 cyl i would replace the plug wires and inspect the coil towers for corrosion
