The timing marks are as follows... the camshaft gear mark will be roughly in the 4 o clock position... the mark on the gear needs to line up with a small pointer on the rear cover. the shear pin in the camshaft will be pointing vertically... the crankshaft timing mark will be roughly in the 1 or 2 oclock positiona small dot on the front of the crankshaft gear will need to line up with with a small dot or notch on the oil pump housing...

TIMING CHAIN CHANGE


hyundai recommends replacing the belt every 60,000 miles or 48 mos and this is an "interference" engine which means if the belt breaks, it will cause internal engine damage. happy holidays

dear friend-on your vehicle cam mark should be at the top,there is a 6mm hole which must line up with a notch on the head.crank must be on TDC and the mark will be slightly to your right.
