Question about Hyundai Santa Fe

1 Answer

I was driving my Sante FE yesterday and stopped at a red light. When I released the break all four brakes where still grabbing. As I was close to home, I kept it in 1st gear and drove back home. At that point all four brakes where very hot. Left it to cool, they eventually released. Took it for test drive after and same thing did not happen again. Any thoughts? Seems like a Master Cylinder issue to me as what else can affect all four breaks?

You are right when you mastercylinder related,as you have a very small port (compesating)inside the cylinder and should a small partical enter and block this port the brakefluid cannot push back when releasing the brakes causing the brakes to bind.the cylinder should be removed and cleaned.

When I turn left my brakes repeatedly grab and release. What could be the cause?

What type of truck is this? Faulty break lines. Too much air in brake lines. Rotors. In need of pads. Leaking calliper.

he could be close to the problem but get it to an accredited professional brake shop for a proper diasgnosis
not enough brake pedal free play will do the same thing as will a faulty master cylinder not allowing fluid to return to the reservoir

2005 sante fe a/c blows warm air when idling @ stop light - works ok at higher speeds

You need to recharge your a/c, and check its fuses. It's not blowing cold air at all, even when you are driving, because when you are driving it is blowing in the cooler moving air from outside your vehicle.

My brake light is on and my care seems to be sluggish

Your brakes may be dragging due to not releasing properly. Suggest that you take the car to a brake shop and have them inspect the entire system. Good luck!

Sporadic shriking noise when in motion at lower

Either a brake pad or the fan belts !
Lube the fan belts with candel wax or silicone spray, if the same noise, it is a brake pad !!

Abs brakes

does all break grab?? if so, the break master cyclinder need attention. if only one break grab then one of the break cyclinder need attention. the cyclinder is not backing off when the break is released.
do not keep driving the car if you don't fix the break. the car will lock up and going to cost you more.

Just purchased 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe. While driving, steering became difficult, brake light, and engine light came on as if the car died, but once we brought the car to a stop we realized that the car was...

I had a similar prob with my 2003 sante fe. It turned out that a plastic panel under the front end had fallen off and now water spalses onto the steering belt and makes it difficult to steer. I need a new spalsh panel (about $300 new/ a lot less from a junkyard and it looks easy yo install)
