SOURCE: need buick century egr diagram

If your car runs bad with an EGR code then I would suggest that the EGR valve be replaced. I would like to know what code was set on your computer. It would help greatly. When the EGR malfunctions, you will have rough idle and possible stalling. If you have a code indicating EGR it may also condem the cat converter. Please show any codes that are set. Thanks Moe

SOURCE: 1996 buick century, I had a tune up and egr valve

Have an auto parts store check for the code. It is possible that you have a bad O2 sensor or your catalytic converter is clogged.

SOURCE: fuel guage fluculates on my

this is a very common problem with this vehicle, they have redesigned the fuel level sensor for it. Unfortunately the sensor is located inside of the fuel tank attached to the fuel pump, you will have to remove the fuel pump from inside of the tank and replace the sensor which will require you to drain and remove the fuel tank first, or take it to a repair facility

Where is the ecm located on a 1993 buick century. 3.3 6 cyl.

Under the dash on the passenger side. If there is a panel underneath, a sound insulator, the ecm will be visible with the panel removed. On some, the glove box has to be removed, don't know about a century, but on a Lesabre, you just remove the panel under the dash and the ecm is accessible.

Can the transmission from a 1991 Buick century 6 cyl be used to replace the bad transmission in a 1995 century 3.1? The 1995 has a 4spd auto. Or, worst case, would the engine and trans swap from the...

No the 95 is a 4T60E transmission. It's electronically controlled via the ecm on your vehicle. The 91 is a TH440T4.and is not electronically controlled. Transmissions are wired different and will not work correctly due to the ecm controller. Ther are plenty of 4t60e trannys. in the salvage yard as they are used in many larger gm vehicles.

I have a 1995 Buick Century 6 cyl. The transmission shifts smoothly and into 4th gear but when I get to about 55 mph it shifts back into 3rd gear by itself and won't go back into 4th gear. What is...

Fourth gear in your vehicle doesn't exist. What feels like a fourth gear is the torque converter locking up. The lockup lockup is controlled by a solenoid in the side pan of the transmission, and the solenoid is controlled by the ECM (electronic control module) in response to several pressure, temperature and speed sensors etc. To determine which component is the problem you'll need a professional transmission mechanic with the proper diagnostic equipment.

Miss not engine related in 1993 buick regal, 3.1 v6

Possibly Igniton Check the sparkpug wires for excessive resistance with an Ohmmeter at each end, spec is no more than 1000 ohms per inch of wire, as well as checking the connections... the coils from tower to tower on each coil should measure between 5000 to 7000 Ohms resistance, any more than 7000 the coil is scrap..if a coil is bad it will knock out 2 cyls and it will be a 4 cyl engine instead of 6...LOL

If this miss is at Idle only try tapping on the EGR valve sometimes they stick or have a piece of carbon holding the valve open causing miss like symptoms .... Hope this helps good luck

By-Pass A/C Pump with new Serp. Fan Belt

the belt tensioner has a pulley that is in-line with the rest of the pulleys, but it is a small one. it has a little bit of an arm that mounts either to the engine or a bracket to the engine. it puts a down force on the belt keeping it tight. when you go to remove the old belt, you will have to use either a wrench or ratchet to pull up on the tensioner (do not let the tensioner snap back into place). install in reverse order. go to the local parts store and take the old belt(if it still exists) and tell them what the problem is and how you plan to fix it with a shorter belt taking the a/c compressor out of play. and go from there.
