Gearbox error? Audi A4 Cab V6 2.5 TDi B6 CVT Multitronic 2003. Gear selection indicator lights on dash start to flash after 4 - 5 miles. Diagnostics say ''17090 - Transmission Range sensor (F125) implausible signal P0706 - 000 Intermittent''

Common low RPM problem occurs identically many other manufacturers ***/American/German vehicles due to camshaft position sensor:

Easily and cheaply fixed by replacing cam position sensors.

Doubt it as the fault suggests you need to look into the range sensor. If similar to Renault there is a switch on the gearbox that senses where the select lever is (at the gearbox end). If the display is wrong then the sensor needs looking at and either it will need to be adjusted into a set position by moving it, or perhaps the connector to it or wiring to/from it have a fault.

this gearbox is computer controlled,you will have to get it on the diagnostic machine to isolate the problem,we would all be guessing if we said its so and so.......

The computer usually sits on the wall next to the driver's legs, but yours could be under the seats, or under the dash, that one I don't know, but it should be kept dry, not under the hood. The valve body is in the transmission. It is accessible from underneath, just under the filter, or on top I should say, holds all your shift solenoids etc.

My guess !!

You had transmission problems & when you thought maybe
you did,you continued to use the car & ruined the trans

Given the age & miles,mostly likely near it's life expectancy
anyway

Reverse lights switch location on Audi A4 1.9 tdi 2003 model 6 speed, can you help please


The switch for reversing light is placed on the right side of the gearbox for Audi 1.9 TDI 2003 model 6 speed.
Switch: M14 x 1,5 & Part number: 01E941521A.

HI I HAVE A 2003 AUDI A4 1.9 TDI I RESET MY SERVICE INDICATOR BUT NOW THERE ARE JUST DASHES WHERE AS BEFORE IT TOLD ME HOW MANY MILES OR DAYS UNTILL NEXT SERVICE HOW DO I SOLVE THIS


On 2003 Audi A4 1.9 TDI the "SERVICE" message can be reseted only using: VAS, VAG-COM, Bosch KTS, Texa, ... diagnostic scantool. Not possible without this equipment connected to the data link connector (DLC) of the car !

These cars are very complex and it's not easy to diagnose. You should take it to a qualified technician with the proper electronic disagonstic tools to verify the problem. Start off with a full scan. It may be a simple as a software upgrade or as complex as the tranny needing repair. I wouldn't drive the car hard and get this resolved asap.
