Hi Rod:
- Remove serpentine belt.
- Unplug/disconnect wires from alternator. It's a good idea to label them. Taking a picture or two also can help.
- Unbolt alternator.
- Remove.... some vehicles make this awkward by having other bits in the way.
Be patient and keep track of what you're doing since you'll have to reverse the procedure to put the new one in.

Being an east-west engine layout and considering how restrictive the engine bay is in the X-Type, it would be advisable to remove the engine to replace the timing chains and guides. In the long run not only will it save you time but you'll have full visual access to the front timing cover and have an easier time in lining up all the timing marks.

2008 jaguar xk engine is completely seized, do i have to remove it with the transmission

if the engine is installed in a conventional manner front to back, you can remove the engine separate to the transmission
if east west installation
then whole unit removal is generally quicker and easier
before you start , get a workshop manual and that will explain the procedure

I have a Citro?n C5 III V6. Ignition fault on number 1. Were is that?

looks like you have to take off some plastics

it will be the coil pack to number one cylinder
in general
number one cylinder on a V6 east west ..is normally
closest to the serp belt on the front bank

all depends on what the workshop is set up with
east west motor
if no car hoist
looks tight to take out from the top

2002 Ford Focus ZX3 engine diagram that shows where the alternator is

The alternator will be somewhere on the front of the engine. IE/ being an "east west " engine, look to the side of the engine as the engine is mounted sideways. Follow the drive belt and you will find it.

I have an ODB1&2 diagnostic tool that has an adapter for Chrysler

It should be on the driver's side somewhere. I believe the computer is at the left front in the engine bay, so check around there.

In a 3.2 V6, the passenger side (Bank 1) has cylinders 1,3, and 5.
The driver's side (Bank 2) has cylinders 2,4, and 6.

92 regal trouble removing the rear rotor

Spray some penetrating lubricant around all the edges of the rotor (front and back), give it about 25-30 minutes to soak in, and then go to town on it with a hammer banging on one side and then the other (North south, East west, South east north west etc)

Might be a problem with the compass module itself. Since the car is new, and still under warranty, take it to the dealer. They will fix it free of charge. Trying to repair it yourself may void the waranty.
