I actually have the same car, and when mine did that it ended up being a cracked spark plug. So I changed the plug and it cracked again. Ended up needing new spark plug wires.
You did not mention the engine size, but under the hood there should be an emission's decal. The spark plug gap is listed on this decal. If not, let me know the engine size, and I will forward the specs.
It is possible, but requires many penny! You will be further ahead by selling the present car and purchasing one that was factory set-up for turbo boost. Tuning beyond stock requires expert knowledge with components that are precisely engineered for the job. Nitrous injection is effective, but can be disastrous for the engine if not done right.
