SOURCE: car won"t start. starter turns. Happened once before. started after 30-45min.

I would start by banging the bottom of the gas tank while you are cranking it over. If this causes it to start, replace the fuel pump. If it still doesn't start, there is a valve on the fuel rail on the top of the engine (you may have to remove plastic cover). Remove the plastic cap on the valve, and while you have someone cycle the ignition to the run position from the off position, depress the center tab on the valve and see if gas comes out. If it doesn't, replace the fuel pump. If it does, let me know and I will help you further. (note: replace fuel filer at same time.)

SOURCE: Exhaust pipe rattles when car idles. Had muffler

Check the heat shield on the Catalytic Converter, after a few years they start to rust off and rattle. Crawl under the Pathfinder and bang along the Converter and muffler area and see where it's coming from.   Good chances are, it's from the heat shield since you already had everything changed from the Cat back.
Good luck and hope this helps.

SOURCE: Van stops running

You need to look at your fuel pump it does not pump to specification when it gets hot. You might just have to replace it.

Good luck

Husq 125b starts great! & runs 5 min, exhaust glows cherry red hot and engine is now at 50% or less power. Exhaust is not clogged; fuel ratio is correct....???? :(

ignition timing is incorrect or valve timing (if 4 stroke) is off
ignition timing is too far retarded and if 4 stroke , the exhaust valve is staying open too long ( tappet clearance )
the indications are that there is compression flame escaping into the exhaust when it should be out

Replace timing belts crank sensor runs rough at idle an exaust gets cherry red

This could be several things. One is obstructed CAT. The most common cause though is the engine is running so rich it is dumping unburned fuel into the exhaust. This could be a bad injector sticking exhaust valve, constant misfire etc. Don't run it like this or you will end up with a pile of charcoal and steel where your car is supposed to be.

Pressure washer exhaust and pipe get cherry red and shuts off, wait a bit start back up and runs a while and does it again, some days it runs great

red exhausts indicate a timing fault or an valve clearance problem
It may be running too rich and there is un-burnt fuel in the exhaust
basically it is from the combustion flame getting into the exhaust

Just bought a 1997 corvette been sitting a while charged up battery would not stay running was missing only ran when i kept on fethering pedal the noticed exhaust pipe got cherry red

Check to see if the exhaust is exiting the rear tailpipe. Could be a plugged up catalytic converter. Or some sort of obstruction in the exhaust system....

02 grand prix 3.8 engine will not go above 3500-3600 rpm. if i try to drive it it barely can get out of first gear because that is the shift point. when it does go into second it will only get up to about...

two things i can think of, 1) a restricked catylitic converter. 2) faulty fuel pump or injectors. check your fuel pressure a the fuel rail to test the pump. a plugged cat. will cause back pressure in the exhaust, if the car is good and warmed up ( at night or very dark place ) look at the "Y" pipe attached to the exhaust manifold, if it glows a dull cherry red replace the converter.

96 Plymouth Grand Voyager

It is an emissions problem. Or sensor problem. Take it for a trouble code scan at Autozone or similar store . They will do a scan for free. You may need to replace the catalytic converter. That cherry red pipe sounds serious.it should not be like that at all.

Engine Back fired, blew out muffler.

Sounds like you may have gotten some debris in your exhaust pipe or something was clogging your muffler. Maybe the innerds of you Catalytic Coverter went and got stuck or the innerds of your muffler gave out. That would be the only few things I could think of to cause something like that.

Sincerely,

JC
